- AI startup idea. 💡
An AI plugin for chat apps that suggests appropriate GIFs for the conversation. That'd save me serious minutes each day. I'd pay for it.
- Snuck past the big 5k. Thanks Lens fam. 🌿
- Where’s my #lensfit fam? Who is still sweating it out?
Early morning training has been dark and cold here through the winter but it’s starting to feel like the seasons are changing here in the southern hemisphere.

- **Proof of Muscle Ups**
Sadly I’m a long way off doing what this beefcake can manage but one of the things I’ve loved about training this past few years has been learning new skills. Today we practiced Ring Muscle Ups using bands and boxes to help us get in the position. Maybe one day I’ll nail it but until then it’s fun to try and push my body in new ways.
Anyone else learning new physical skills lately?
- Anyone else here on a not-for-profit board? I’m the chair of this little community org in my town. https://www.norlaneci.org.au/
I love this kind of grassroots work and often find myself wondering how web3 can disrupt things in the community we seek to serve. Would love to hear from others on that journey too.

- **Proof of CrossFit **
Like most clubs and niche groups CrossFit has a bunch of terminology unique to it. Whenever I see “Metcon” I know I’m gonna be exhausted. It stands for metabolic conditioning and it’s always the kind of workout that pushes you to the edge of what you‘re capable of.
AMRAP stands for As Many Rounds/Reps As Possible. Basically 10 minutes flat out doing hard/heavy exercises, 5 minutes off, then another 10 minutes of hell. 😅
The endorphins afterwards are worth it though. 💪🏻

- Proof of workout - blister edition
Yesterday’s workout involved a crazy amount of bar work (chin-ups, pull-ups and clean squats) and this is the result. Training this morning was a pretty painful experience. Gotta push through to toughen them up though. 🤕

- How do you stay #lensfit when you get sick?
Had a few days with a headcold and thought that this might be a good chance to swap insights about training while sick and recovery approaches.
Generally my approach is to attempt to keep training at a much reduced intensity. I try and stay well hydrated, eat better than usual and sleep more than normal. There‘s obviously a point where training becomes impossible and counter productive but up until then being active is still helpful.
How do you approach it?

- Anyone else noticed that notifications are quite right at the moment? It’s not the app because I’ve tried it across @orbapp.lens @buttrfly.lens and @diversehq.lens. I’m often finding interactions on posts or comments that just simply don’t show up in my notifications like they should.
- Inclusion Football League
I spent my Saturday night running messages out to players in the first round of our local football (Australian Rules Football) inclusion league. This is a league designed for anyone over 15 who has a disability and wants to play. It’s an amazing assortment of ages, genders, skill levels and personalities. The opening round was played at our professional stadium under lights.
This event was so inspiring. Nothing other than the love of the game was important. Physical prowess was irrelevant. Passion and giving it ago were the key elements. These players reminded me that the joy of participating can be as powerful as a new personal best with the right mentality.

- #lensfit let’s talk recovery
Did you know that recovery is an essential part of training? Much of the benefit we get from the workouts we do happen as we recover, not during the workout. This means that things like what we eat and how much sleep we’re getting are super important considerations to make the most of our hard work.
Over the last couple of years I’ve focussed in on making sure I get at least 7.5hrs sleep a night, 9 if I’m really fatigued. For me this goes hand in hand with training, when I train hard I sleep well. When I sleep well I’ve got the energy and mood to train hard.
Another key element for me is the sauna. I find it very beneficial for muscle recovery after weight training and I sleep like a baby if I sauna in the evenings. Just gotta make sure I cool down properly before getting into bed.
Anyone else have recovery tips they’d like to share?

- My physical world fit fam
Most weekdays this is what I'm greeted with at 6am. It's a special breed of people who are willing to get to the gym by that time so we've become a pretty close knit crew. I'm super grateful for them, if I don't show I get a message asking if I'm okay, if I push myself they notice and if I'm slacking off they encourage me to work harder. I couldn't have build the habits and achieved this level of fitness without them.
Today we did this workout:
Goal - as many rounds as possible in 12 minutes of
- 12 x weighted box step ups (24inch box with 30kg weight)
- 12 single dumbbell snatches at 15kg
- 12 toes to bar
I almost completed 5 rounds, just fell a few reps short on the TTB. 😅

- I'm absolutely loving being able to see the threads off a Lens post the way @diversehq.lens displays it. It'd be amazing to be able to toggle each post to show/hide comments but this view really opens up a post and lets you see/engage with all the tangents of conversation that have come off it.
I didn't realise how much I'd missed this with the way most of the other UIs for Lens posts are built. Anyone else?
- #lensfit introductions
Hey #lensfit fam, what do you think about trying to create a culture of people introducing themselves when they join https://diversehq.xyz/c/lensfit ?
For us to be able to be a supportive community it'd be helpful to understand a little of someone's story, current activity and aspirations.
For example mine would be:
I'm in my mid 40s, have been focussed on building healthy fitness habits for the last 5 years since I had a head injury. Banging my head (and getting older) has given me a new appreciation for my health and having a body that can do the things I'd like it to do.
These days I workout at a CrossFit gym near my home 4-5 times a week from 6-7am. After 3 years I've made some close friends there, it's an important community for me. I also love hiking, mountain bike riding and surfing.
Despite CrossFit being kind of intense I'm hardly a fitness junkie. I like training so that I can also drink beer, not be too worried about what I'm eating and have balance in my life. I want fitness to be fun and empowering.
*this is me with some mates crossing the line after a 55km/16hr/88,000 step hike. A beer followed soon after!

- Has anyone seen an interface to DMs that allows you filter down to only replies rather than just a full list of all messages you've ever sent/received?
- Let's make a LensFit Community 😅
After a great post from @wagmi.lens about feeling good being back in the gym I was inspired by @punkess.lens call out for a community on Lens for fitness. I'd love to have positive fitness vibes as a part of the Lens world, I can see it being of benefit to many of us seeking a healthy balance and a helpful connection between our digital and physical lives.
So this is me putting my hand up to work with others to explore what this community might look like. If you are also keen to make it happen then I'd love to hear from you. Let's work it out together.

- @wagmi.lens @iamtheyakuza.lens this was this morning’s 6am workout

Minute 2 - 21 Calories on the rower
Minute 3 - 21 Pull ups
Minute 4 - Rest
Averaged these numbers over the 3 rounds.
15 Thrusters
14 Calories

Pretty sure that workout was impossible. 😅
