this is an announcement gm 🥳 +++ important +++ important +++ important +++
I'll post the `getting started` with #lens June 2023 update later today. That's probably not worth an announcement BUT ...
**1** the cover is another master pieces - created in **collaboration** between two amazing lens artists: @arterlioz.lens AND @cybershakti.lens
**2** imho the cover will be reason enough to collect. BUT ... the collect will come with 2 (!) utilities this time:
+ every collector can suggest and vote for the cover artist of the next month's cover AND
+ @arterlioz.lens and @cybershakti.lens created an additional artwork (1:1) that will be raffled among all the collectors 🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇

- Hey fellow Lenters
I was making a meal and as a nutritionist i was wondering how many of you consume legumes
I know so many people who are afraid of dealing with them and feeling it's hard to cook or digest them.
I though it's important to share some information about
**The Benefits of Eating Legumes**
( Nutrition, environment, economic side)
Maybe it will inspire you to combine them in your diet once in a while.
The photo was taken this morning and the richness of the colours inspired me to write this post
So:
Legumes are a type of plant that includes beans, peas, lentils, and peanuts. They are a great source of protein, fiber, and other nutrients, and they can be a healthy addition to any diet.
**Nutritional Benefits**🏃🚴🫀
Legumes are a good source of protein, fiber, iron, folate, and other nutrients. They are also low in fat and calories. Protein is essential for building and repairing tissues, and fiber is important for digestive health. Folate is important for pregnant women, as it helps to prevent birth defects.
**Environmental Benefits**🌍🌎🌏
Legumes are a sustainable food source. They require less water and land to grow than meat, and they help to improve soil quality. Legumes also help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as they capture carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
**Economic Benefits** 💰💰💰🛒🛍️
Legumes are a relatively inexpensive food source. They are also a good source of protein for people who cannot afford meat. Legumes can also help to reduce food waste, as they can be stored for long periods of time.
**How to Include Legumes in Your Diet**
There are many ways to include legumes in your diet. They can be eaten cooked or raw, and they can be added to a variety of dishes. Some popular ways to eat legumes include:
🍲**Soups and stews:** Legumes are a great addition to soups and stews, as they add protein and fiber.
🥗**Salads:** Legumes can be added to salads for a protein boost.
🍛**Side dishes:** Legumes can be cooked and served as a side dish.
*🥘🧆 **Main dishes:** Legumes can be used to make main dishes such as chili, hummus, and bean burritos.
Legumes are a healthy, sustainable, and affordable food source. They can be a great addition to any diet.
If you are looking for ways to improve your health, reduce your environmental impact, or save money, consider adding more legumes to your diet.

- **`130 . Escher High on Mushrooms (Collectible)`**
**Title:** Escher High on Mushrooms
**Kind:** Spherical perspective, photo montage and collage
**Date and place:** 14/04/2023, Berlin, Germany 🇩🇪
**Contest:** ArtHack - Redefining Iconic Artworks For The Digital Age", the first online exhibition of Art From Future on the Lens Protocol @lensprotocol.lens, in partnership with the Museum of Lens @molens.lens Exhibition curated by Jessy Jeanne @jessyjeanne.lens & Armin Hoori @arminhoori.lens
**Invited artists:** @marzipanphysics.lens @cybershakti.lens @mazemari.lens @andresbriceno.lens @whitecloud.lens @lufoart.lens
**Statement**
Escher High on Mushrooms (EHM) appropriates the famous lithography "Hand with Reflecting Sphere" (1935) by M. C. Escher ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hand_with_Reflecting_Sphere ). In the original artwork, Escher uses a spherical reflection to show himself and the inside of his room. EHM imitates the same pose but instead of reflecting the outside physical world in a pictographic way, it reflects an inner, dreamy, whimsical world. The artwork in the sphere is a spherical perspective called “Elizabete: Hat, Fruit or Flute” and it can be navigated 360 degrees at: https://www.lufo.art/VT-virtual-tour/elizabete-hat-fruite-or-flute.html
EHM intends to be a sarcastic joke: creativity does not rely neither on substances nor in alcohol, but on both the outside and the inside research about who we are.
**Technique**
The spherical perspective has been handmade first with pencil, then outlined with ink and finally painted with watercolours. The collage was made on Photoshop using a photography made with my mobile phone and the background from the original artwork repeated as a pattern and digitally coloured.

- **Momoka Scaling Solution for Lens - Why is it a game changer...✨🌿🧵**
**What is Momoka? 🤩 🌿**
Momoka is an Optimistic L3 scaling solution, that will process transactions at hyperscale, and is designed to support the next generation of web3 social users.
*See Lens' post for the deep rundown 👀*
**Momoka** address an issue that is as old as blockchains, block space scarcity...which translates to on-chain data storage scarcity. You may have come across the debate on whether NFTs who's metadata is saved on-chain are more valuable or not, or are we clogging up these chains.
This is a concern with blockchains because the more congested execution chains become, the more expensive they are to use. Hence, there has always been a concern regarding the feasibility of social media on-chain.
A lot of Lens apps currently are built in way they've obfuscated away the user having to pay gas on very TXN they create on Lens, subsidising them on the backend. A large part of this is because people would find it hard to stomach having to pay to make a comment, for example.
With Momoka, there is the choice of what should be on-chain and what doesn't have to be. I think this is particularly important because there are things you'd want on-chain and things you might not, like a causal comment.
**This does a two of things:**
Firstly, it improves the overall experience of using Lens apps as we're not going to have to wait for small interactions like comments to be indexed anymore. Low latency, Instant Verification!
Secondly, this dramatically decreases the costs of on-chain interactions as the network as a whole will be less congested with a lot of what people do Lens not being on-chain.
This has the added benefit of making it easier for Lens apps to reach revenue generation if they continue to subsidise on-chain activities and implement viable revenue models. Moreover, this allows for a more sustainable and productive ecosystem.
Aside from all it does for Lens and the viability for decentralised social, it addresses the same issues experienced by projects building in web3 gaming and so many other niches. It'll be interesting to see how Momoka evolves to support potentially various ecosystems in future.
Big congratulations to @lensprotocol, Arweave and @bundlr-network on the announcement 🥳
I'll be verifying 🫡 🌿

Why not creat a community?
- Nobody asked, but here’s my 2 MATIC (with a 20% referral fee) on the evolution of online interactions:
There once was a time when the “like” (👍) was the be-all and end-all in terms of measuring content effectiveness.
In the early days of social media, "likes" played a significant role in determining a post's popularity and reach. This was particularly true on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, where users could easily show their approval of a post by clicking the "like" button.
Likes were seen as ~thee~ measure of social validation. They also played a role in determining which content was promoted on a user's newsfeed or discover page, as posts with more likes were given priority 📈
However, in recent years, many social media platforms have started to de-emphasize likes as a measure of success. Some have even experimented with hiding like counts altogether in an effort to reduce the pressure on users to seek validation through likes and to promote more authentic engagement.
The goalposts of metrics are changing.
Vanity out. Value in.
Web2 platforms like Instagram and TikTok began treating content that had a high save to like ratio more favorably in terms of the algorithm 📱📊
And you know what’s better than a save (which is essentially a glorified bookmark)?
A collect. (Especially when it’s paid.)
This is the future of social media.
Even those on web2 social are catching on.
We’re no longer just interacting for the sake of interacting.
The possibility for more intentional responses encourages more intentional creation. And more intentional creation contributes to a value exchange that fosters a self-sustaining ecosystem ♻️
Here’s the desired hierarchy specific to #Lens:
#Collect - I need to own it
#Mirror - I need others to see it
#Comment - I need to share my opinion about it
#Like - This resonates
Do you see how little the L compares to the MCC in terms of existence?
Now, not every piece of content we make is necessarily created for the sake of attracting a lot of engagement or for making a lot of money. And to an extent, likes will always matter to one degree or another because they help indicate how much said content resonates with one's audience 👥
But it’s interesting to see the role value plays and what value means when both creators and collectors can engage on social media in ways that have not been possible previously.
I’m excited to continue to explore this relationship on @lensprotocol and I’m grateful for everyone who’s here now on the journey 🥹
What kind of value are you hoping to bring to and receive from Lens?

After a great post from @wagmi.lens about feeling good being back in the gym I was inspired by @punkess.lens call out for a community on Lens for fitness. I'd love to have positive fitness vibes as a part of the Lens world, I can see it being of benefit to many of us seeking a healthy balance and a helpful connection between our digital and physical lives.
So this is me putting my hand up to work with others to explore what this community might look like. If you are also keen to make it happen then I'd love to hear from you. Let's work it out together.
