- 🚀 Galactic Story Time!
**tl;dr: we are launching a personal offramp at skyteller.xyz - check it out. We will prioritize lens users!**
----
🦩Some of you have asked for an update on galactic and what we are up to. Here is the story!
🚀 In late 2021, we fell head over heels for off-ramps. We looked at the market and noticed that folks was focusing on on-ramps but not a lot of folks were focusing on off-ramps. This was our chance!
🤖 We dove deep into debit cards and even built a self-custody one in early 2022. Our team had launched PayPal's first debit card, the Venmo card, and built Venmo infrastructure, so we knew what we were doing.
🤝 We locked in some fantastic partnerships and nailed down the legal perspective on our product. Bank approval came quickly, and we got card network approval too.
👷♂️ We spent the summer building out the product and getting it ready for launch. By the time the program was approved, we knew we had something truly awesome on our hands.
💼 We started finalizing details with our partners for KYC, swap, insurance, and more. Everything was looking good until FTX happened...
🔍 We double-checked with our partner, and they said they were bullish on our use case. We hired a fantastic Chief Compliance Officer to make sure we were doing everything by the book.
🗓️ We set our sights on a November 2022 launch date, but our partner and partner bank said they needed to wait until Q1 2023 for an audit by the card network. So, we waited.
📞 We spoke with the card network, and they said everything was fine. But when our partner and partner bank came back, they presented us with some unexpected challenges.
🔧 We worked tirelessly to fix the issues, but then our partner said they just didn't want to work with crypto companies. Our program was canceled after nine months of integration. Womp womp.
🔍 We didn't give up though. We found another bank that was excited to work with us. Unfortunately, they hit the pause button on all programs until they could figure out what was going on in crypto.
💡 That's when we realized that a self-custodial debit card program wasn't feasible at the moment. But we didn't want to stop building off-ramps, so we put our thinking caps on.
💰 We came up with a neat product that lets anyone get an Ethereum address that connects to their bank account. It allows you to seamlessly off-ramp anything from ETH into fiat, like magic.
💸 For example, if you send USDC/ETH/etc. to harper.skyteller.eth, it'll be deposited into my personal bank account. It's that simple!
🙌 There are so many cool use cases for this product. You can add your off-ramp address as your NFT marketplace royalty address and have your royalties deposited directly into your bank account.
💰 You can set up a payment splitter and have this ETH account be one of the addresses for pushing 40% of your crypto earnings to your fiat account for taxes.
🍕 You can even add it to your ENS address (harper.skyteller.eth) and have people pay you directly in USD to cover fiat expenses (like pizza!). Your parents could set it up too, and you could send them crypto to appear in their bank account like magic.
🤯 This may be the first composable off-ramp! The possibilities are endless. We're launching this product over the next few weeks, and we're excited to share it with you.
📝 You can sign up for the waitlist at skyteller.xyz. We'll be prioritizing lens users, so join us on this crazy journey!

- Hi Lens. I keep forgetting about this because switching to polygon is a pain. Maybe I should focus on mobile only?
- Last day to take advantage of my ghostly A Christmas Carol “you make an offer, I accept it” deal. Read this thread for details and then make me an offer on Foundation. Last chance!

- The new Twitter “you can’t link to our competitors because we are scared someone might be doing this better than us” policy specifically cites Nostr but doesn’t mention Lens or Farcaster. Come on Lens & Farcaster people, need to up the threat level here.
- This is a long 20+ tweet thread about my new ai collection about ghosts. I don't know an easy way to recreate it here, so just linking...

- I have Lens set up to auto post to Twitter, but I find myself still posting to Farcaster and also to Twitter manually because Lens forces me to change to Polygon and login each time, so it's more of a hassle in that respect.
- If you want to be invited next to the orb app to enjoy Lens on your mobile, then follow @orbapp.lens and drop your lens handle in the comment! \n\n#lmcc
- Hello from not Miami Beach.
- If I've ever bought any of your stuff or you've ever bought any of my stuff, this applies to you. Reply back with your favorite piece from either my "Unfinished Projects" or "Eyes Wide Open" collections and tell me why it resonates with you.
- Discords with <5 channels are vastly superior to Discords >15 channels.
- A year ago I minted my Tokyo Walks collection. The first piece from it just sold this week, in this market. Sure an instant sell out is nice, but holding on and people finding things later is really awesome too. 15 1/1 photos, 0.35 each.

- Should I mint a small 1/1 collection of my new robots, similar to my Dead Queens?
- South of France, 2016

- People doesn’t realize how much technology is held together with duct tape and last second scrambling. If critical infrastructure people at Twitter are now gone, when things break, and they will break, no one will be there to fix them. These things happen gradually then suddenly.
- If I go to sleep tonight and Twitter is gone when I wake up tomorrow I’m going to be legitimately sad.
- New podcast I did recently is live. Talking CryptoPunks and regular punks too.

- Playing with an idea...
- Is there Lens comment spam already? I’m seeing some replies which feel like copypasta and wondering if it’s just people trying to hack up follower counts.
- I just wrote a blog post about how exciting I think Lens & Farcaster are for the future of social media that we’ve all been dreaming about.

- Just got a few Orb invites. Who of my friends who are already playing with .lens would like one?
- I heard you all got new orb invites 👀

- Still trying to figure out the flows. Seems like if I post to Lenster it syncs to Orb, Phaver, etc immediately but not to twitter, however if I post to Orb it syncs to other lens services AND twitter immediately. But Orb is a bit slower to track replies on Lenster. I know it's all still Beta but just wondering if others are seeing the same thing. Also is there any Lens <-> Farcaster syncing happening anywhere yet?

- I have a longer blog post brewing about this but I'm just so excited to see all of this working. To me it feels like the dreams we had chewing on open social back in the "how can I move my friends from friendster to myspace to twitter to pownce to tumblr etc etc" and the same struggles we kept facing trying to get companies and platforms to understand the value in releasing control of that data. Especially with all the drama with Twitter's future right now and people looking at Mastodon thinking it's a solution without realizing it's just the same problem all over again. Lens is actually working as the solution. Love it.
- ✨ Finally managed to add image support to Reflect!
After you enable the images option from your dashboard (link below), your Lens posts will keep their images when cross-posted to Twitter 🚀
One step closer from freeing ourselves from the bird app 😁

- This is a test. Posting an image on Orb and seeing if the magic of lens sends it correctly to Twitter. Also a reminder if you hold any of my previous projects there’s a free claim for you for another 18 hours…
- Hello orbsters
- My good friend @seanbonner.lens just published this #free claim #nft for those who have minted some of his art. Check it out
