- ๐ Exciting News for our Community! ๐ฑ
We're thrilled to announce that our optimized DApp is now live on the testnet, featuring an enhanced UX/UI and brand-new farming features. ๐
We invite you to join us and be among the early explorers of these updates. Test its performance, relish the user-friendly experience, and dive into the innovative farming functions. Your feedback and insights are extremely valuable as we continue to refine our platform.

Please note that the minting of a new SFT is necessary for participation. Additionally, it is crucial to understand that rewards within the testing environment will appear significantly larger due to a condensed project duration. Specifically, while live-phase projects are designed for a 20-30 year duration, projects within the testing phase are abbreviated to a mere 2 weeks. ๐พ๐ฐ

- Diving into the nuances of Voluntary Carbon Credits: Ex-Post vs. Ex-Ante. What's the difference and why does it matter? ๐๐ญ๐
Ex-post credits are verified carbon contributions, representing past emission avoidance or removal confirmed by independent standards.
Issued every 5 years over a project's 25-year average life, they're ready to be factored into your carbon footprint once delivered. ๐ณ
Ex-ante credits are based on projected future carbon contributions. These credits are issued for the expected avoidance or removal of emissions and help fund future or current carbon contribution initiatives. ๐ฑ
Over time, as reductions are realized and verified, ex-ante credits become ex-post credits. These credits can therefore play a critical role in advancing forward-looking projects that can have a profound environmental impact. ๐
Plus, a surge in demand is coming. ๐ The move toward carbon neutrality is driving explosive demand for voluntary carbon credits. Experts predict a 15-fold increase in price by 2030.
This market growth, coupled with the limited availability of quality ex-post credits, emphasizes the value of forward-financing these projects and credits, whether for contribution or resale. ๐ก๐ฑ
At Carbonable, our mission is to improve the efficiency, integrity and accountability of carbon investment and management.
By leveraging the latest tech, we serve as a gateway to greater trust and traceability of carbon contributions, paving the way to global net zero. ๐๐ ๏ธ

- Dear @gitcoin.lens , I ๐ค the gitcoin grants series, huge congrats it's an amazing and very impressive initiative.
Unfortunately not everything in gitcoin land is awesome though (imho) - annoying things like search, need to create a new gitcoin passport every round, distinct checkout for every category and one major issue: checkout on L1 only. Tbh I don't get it, gitcoin supported checkout via zkSync 1.0/lite since I know of gitcoin grants and I loved it. Not lately though ๐คทโโ๏ธ.
**Why is it an issue?**
Assuming I would like to support projects in 3 different categories now, I would have to pay close to **200 USD gas cost.** Not sure if this supports the idea of quadratic funding best.
Maybe I'm missing something, maybe there are good reasons for supporting L1 checkout only and having distinct checkout processes for every category, if so pls let me know.
For now It will be the first time since I know of gitcoin grants I won't donate. ๐ช
I'd love to support all #lens projects - on lens ideally :-) - though. Maybe we can start a **#lens funding round**, inspired by @gitcoin.lens grants rounds.

- Allow us to reintroduce ourselves...meet the native hyperscaling solution for Lens, Momoka! Momoka is an Optimistic L3 scaling solution, that will process transactions at hyperscale, and is designed to support the next generation of web3 social users.
Data availability layers are utilized to prevent storing information on-chain. While content on Lens may include an on-chain transaction, the content data is linked to a data availability location, like Momoka.
Momoka serves as a scaling solution that processes Polygon transactions off-chain, achieving hyperscale and reducing costs. Unlike L2 solutions, Momoka doesn't compress transactions into L1, it sends and stores them on a data availability layer.
The main challenge for decentralized social networks is to ensure that users have control over their content, while still being just as user-friendly as traditional social networks. Momoka makes the future of decentralized social possible.
We've worked relentlessly with the @bundlr-network.lens and Arweave teams to ensure scalability by providing Data Availability (DA) guarantees, allowing the use of Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-supported wallets to save DA logic and facilitating the rapid publishing of data.
Permissionless innovation is at the core of everything we do on Lens. As we approach one year on mainnet (still in beta), we have been blown away by the talent and passion in our dev community but we realize in order to scale to the masses, we need to build new solutions.
Since yesterday, Momoka is already being beta tested on Lenster, Lenstube, Orb, Buttrfly and Phaver.
We look forward to seeing more applications roll out Momoka.
To make it easier to find any transaction made with Momoka, we built the Momoka Explorer (http://momoka.lens.xyz) to track and find Momoka transactions and to monitor the throughput speed of Momoka.

**Day 21 - Thursday, February 23**
Last Day in Tanzania
This day was not very cool for a last day in Tanzania. Indeed, we both got sick that day. This was probably due to food poisoning caused by some questionable samosas we had eaten at the airport the day before. Geoffrey was pretty upset and I had a bad stomach ache with good nausea. We tried to nibble on the breakfast that was brought to us around 10am. It was a shame, because there was a nice pool, but we couldn't go in because we were so messed up. We just took advantage of the day to rest and watch some episodes of the show.
Suleiman came back to pick us up at 5pm, it was time to go back to the airport. We took off at 7:40 pm and headed to Nairobi. I tried to snack and drink a little on the plane, as we hadn't eaten since the morning, but it didn't work for me. I had a big sweat and felt very sick for 5 minutes just before landing, I was not well. It was about time we got to Nairobi, because I threw up everything I could at the nearest bathroom. At least I felt better.
We waited from 8:45pm to midnight, waiting for our flight to Paris, but there was the Nantes-Juventus game on TV, perfect! We boarded the plane and took off around 12:05 am, I only wanted to sleep, and that's what I did 10 minutes after the takeoff.
**Day 22 - Friday 24th February**
Last day of travel
I had to sleep 5 hours on the 8 hours of the plane trip. It was good for me but I missed both the meal and the breakfast. It was not a big deal, I felt much better than the day before. During the rest of the trip, I finished the Break Point series on Netflix and listened to music. The flight was very quiet, no turbulence and good neighbors.
We landed in Paris at 6:15am, how cold was it! It calms down directly! It took us at least 1h30 to get out of the airport, it was a mess at the immigration service, we wonder how it will hold for the Olympics2024. We were able to recover our luggage without any problem, it was good news. We took the RER and the subway to join the Montparnasse station around 10 am. We had time, our train was only at 12:40. We took the opportunity to have a breakfast, I bought a newspaper, and we quietly strolled in the station.
Our train was right on time, I slept a good part of the way to Rennes. My friend Marion was waiting for us around 3pm in Rennes, it was so nice to see her, I missed her. We dropped Geoffrey back at his place, and we took the way back to the house, and it was the progressive return to the reality!
This marks the end of my trip to Tanzania, it was an incredible experience that I can only recommend!
Thank you for reading my travel diary, feel free to LMCC, there will probably be more in the future.

**Day 19 - Tuesday, February 21**
Zanzibar - Day 5
We got up around 9:30 am, it was good for us. We took our time that morning, we went out in town only around 11am. Geoffrey wanted to buy postcards and a Zanzibar shirt, and I wanted to find a currency exchange to get some nice bills and coins for my girlfriend's grandparents' collection. The missions were accomplished for both of us, we then sat down on a terrace facing the sea to have a coffee. Geoffrey wrote his postcards while I rambled in my thoughts looking at the waves.
Around 1pm, we left for a restaurant we had spotted near the fort. On the way, we bumped into Abdallah, who asked us how the previous day's dive went. As he was with us, I took the opportunity to ask him if there were any old shilling coins, still for the collection. As if by chance, an old man just behind us called out to us, he had a bag full of old African coins, they know how to be opportunists in Zanzibar. I bought a few coins trying to negotiate as much as possible, I still haven't looked at the value of these coins on the internet but I was probably fooled on the prices. It's not a big deal, it's just one more story to tell. We got rid of these chatterboxes and went to the restaurant right next door, a nice rooftop with a 360ยฐ view on the city, and a pool, not bad! I had a chicken curry with rice, really good, with a spicy red wine that surprised me, then a brownie, totally burnt though.
We went back to the bnb to rest a bit around 4pm, then we left for a beach session around 5pm. We saw a funny guy on the beach, he was doing unconventional stunts over a tire, it was quite funny. We left around 7:30 pm after having enjoyed the sun, to settle down on a table not far away to have a snack. I had a burger because I was hungry
We went back to the bnb around 9pm. We tidied up and prepared our suitcases for the next day, because we had to return the apartment. I watched some crap on the networks and started "Break Point" on Netflix, it was pretty good before going to sleep!
**Day 20 - Wednesday, February 22**
Zanzibar - Last Day
We woke up a little earlier that day, around 7:30 am, because we wanted to go and see the "Cheetah's Rock", and the animals were apparently active in the morning. We left with the motorcycle at about 8:30am, we had about 45 minutes to drive. There was a lot of traffic, I wonder how the locals deal with the dust and pollution in the heat.
When we arrived at Cheetah's Rock by small roads, we were disappointed, we learned that we had to book in advance, that it lasted 4 hours, and that it cost 160$ per person anyway (we didn't have any money left). We settled on a small quiet beach nearby, where we stayed for a good 2 hours. I had a good stress when I wanted to take my cell phone to listen to music, it was nowhere to be found. Either I had put it in another bag while packing in the morning and it was at the reception of the bnb, or it was dead.
We drove back to Stone Town around 11:30am, to park the disabled bike in front of the bnb for good. We managed to survive the roads of Zanzibar, which was a good point. I checked quickly at the reception and my laptop was well in another bag, phew! We went quietly in town to settle in a restaurant facing the sea, the last one of the vacations. I took pasta with chicken, it was good! We rested on the beach around 2:30 pm, just to swim and enjoy the sun as much as possible before leaving. Around 5:30 pm, we went back to the reception of the bnb to put some things away. We could even take a shower in another free accommodation, it was cool. We just went to the spice market before leaving, to bring back some local products in France.
Abdallah was waiting for us at 6:30 pm at the bnb to take us to the airport. We loaded our bags and were there in 20 minutes. We said our goodbyes with Abdallah and gave him a little tip before heading back to the airport. Our flight was at 10pm, the check-in process was quick and the plane was not delayed. After only 50 minutes of flight time, we were back in mainland Tanzania, at Kilimanjaro International Airport. We had rented a room for the night, as our flight back to France was not until the next evening. Our cab, Suleiman, was waiting for us at the airport to take us to the hotel. He was driving really slowly, because his brake pads looked like they were on their last legs. We arrived at the hotel around 11:40 pm, we had a nice little room, and it was straight to sleep!
