I log on to web3 social media, I see a lot of art and optimism.
I log on to my old Twitter and I see genocide, death, chaos, bombs, limbs, blood, anguish, mourning, organizing, protests, solidarity.
If we're truly building a new social media, we have to find a balance. Don't censor yourself. I want to see your thoughts. The truth is to get to a world where we all get to chill and enjoy art, we have a long way to go. A lot of work to do. We have to work together. I have hope for humanity but it lies in coordination and communication.

Vitalik's April Fools article Degen Communism is interesting. I think it's a good joke in that it triggers people in a way that hopefully could promote debate and discussion.
Crypto has all these people calling themselves degen without thinking about the historical context. Degen, short for degenerate, was a Nazi term for people they wanted to eliminate. Jews, LGBTQ people, disabled people and Communists among others. If we are going to reclaim the term degen, why not also Communism? It was primarily Communists who stood up and stopped the Nazis in WWII and they may have to do it again in the 21st century. If it's Fascists vs Degens, what side are you on? I hope we are all with the "degenerates" who are of course not actually degenerate but fine people worthy of human rights and dignity.
People often equate Communism with authoritarianism but that's a reaction to specific past instances and nothing to do with Communism itself. Communism in my personal view is an economic and political system which prioritizes organizing available resources to meet the basic needs of all people in the world. Degen Communism could also be called anti-authoritarian Communism. It would prioritize not only meeting people's needs but collectively addressing the current problems humanity faces together. It would refocus our consciousness from the individual to the community and biosphere levels without sacrificing individual freedom. It would unlock the true potential of humanity, when all people are cared for and all basic needs are met to the best of our ability.
This is why I am unironically in favor of Degen Communism and why I hope you share this post and leave your comments below! I'm happy to discuss, please explain if you think I'm wrong or want me to elaborate on something. Love and peace to all of humanity and our Mother Earth.

💯: War on Crypto will continue because it's good politics for both sides and helps distract from the real issues (crumbling Empire, imminent climate chaos). Think about their motive, politicians *love* divisive issues because it allows them to further the Ruling Class divide and conquer strategy.
What do you think? Do you know of a politician whose take on crypto is both informed and genuine? I haven't seen one yet in my opinion.
- Who else is stoked for the Starship launch attempt! What do you predict? I think it will fail at some point between Max-Q and re-entry. That would still be a huge success for it. If it makes it past that I'll be blown away tbh. GL SpaceX!

- What do you think about SpaceX's Starship? Do you watch the YouTube channel NASA Spaceflight? Great channel. Live rn following the Starship rolling out to the launch pad. I'll just throw out a few out my thoughts, share yours in replies.
-First of all regardless of what you think about a certain person who gets a lot of credit and media attention, Starship and SpaceX in general are the work of thousands of people including so much from NASA and dozens of professions.
-Starship right now, even if you don't believe any of the Mars stuff, is the NASA plan for the first US crewed moon lander since Apollo. I'm excited to see if they can pull it off and I'll be watching and rooting for it's success.
-That said I have my doubts about this launch attempt. I understand the rapid iteration style of the early suborbital flight tests, but a full stack is completely different. A RUD (Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly, aka rocket blows up) on the pad or really anywhere besides near orbital velocity could be devastating for SpaceX. Maybe not, but... Maybe a lot of people are underestimating how bad it could be in the media and public opinion.
-It's already an outdated prototype and to take the launch attempt seriously they should use the most advanced version they can accomplish right now, not the first one that's ready.
-The launch pad is really rough. The water deluge system for sound suppression is pretty weak for the amount of thrust Starship can produce. There's no real flame diversion trench.
What do you think? Will this pair of ship and booster launch or will it be another? How far do you guess it will get?

- Mihailo Bjelic cofounder of Polygon on Bankless yesterday responding to Ryan Sean Adams asking about the future of the PoS chain: "We are experimenting. We cannot confirm or commit to anything formal yet but we are experimenting how we can leverage zk [zero-knowledge] technology given now that Jordi's team has shipped zkEVM we're exploring how we can potentially leverage zk technology on the PoS chain itself which will give it more obvious relevance moving forward."
Here's the clip I've been waiting for at least a year! What will happen with existing Polygon collections, NFTs? Can they be ported onto a layer 2, will the PoS chain itself become an L2 or are they just left behind? There's a ton of art on there that is part of the history of blockchain and crypto history now. I'm happy to hear they are experimenting with this and can't wait to hear what they come up with as the solution!

- One of my favorite things about the NFT community are community minting events or seasonal themed drops. Right now there's some winter themed ones like #Tezember and #WinterWizards and probably a bunch I don't know about. I've minted some wizards, this time on Tezos, using some stable diffusion experiments edited and animated in GIMP. There's also Enceladus Ice Geyser, a painting I did in acrylics depicting one of the most wintery places in our solar system. Enceladus is a moon of Saturn that shoots out massive geysers of frozen water which rains back to the surface as snow, making it one of the brightest objects in the solar system. I have an animated 75 second day/night GIF version and a 1/1 jpg. Check out my available work at:

**NFT double-drop: I've minted Wizard of Crypto Winter 2022 as an edition of 13 on both Tezos and Polygon.** The Polygon editions are on a ThirdWeb ERC 1155 contract (standard version). I used to mint mostly on Polygon but it seems that engagement for artists on there has died down a lot relative to other options. However I think Polygon has a bright future and I'm also happy to stick around! I think they will eventually migrate the PoS chain to an L2, and if so it's going to probably be the #1 Eth L2. If that's the case, NFTs on Polygon are going to be massive. At the moment however the art community on Tezos is thriving. Which chain will sell out 13 editions?

After Elon Musk bought the company, waves of firings layoffs and resignations delivered a chaotic atmosphere on the legendary social media app where nobody knows if it will continue as normal, get worse, get better or crash and burn. - Got me thinking a bit. If someone builds a pay to follow (or auction to follow) module where the funds go to a smart contract that can be governed by the follow NFTs. We basically have a social Nouns DAO on Lens. 👀
Add it with the idea that each follow NFT could have custom art.
