- According to Vitalik, "everyone moving to smart contract wallets" is one of the "three major technical transitions" Ethereum needs to undergo to be used by the next billion people.
But what is a smart contract wallet exactly?
You'll know by the end of this post.
In web2 you don’t have control over your money or data. Crypto solves that but the user experience is too complicated. Seed phrase, paying fees only in a specific token, lack of security, too many operations to validate.
That's why more than 80% of crypto users are actually using custodial wallets and trusted entities like Celsius, BlockFi & FTX to hold their funds. Back to square one. Still no control. What's the solution?
That’s where smart contract wallets come in. Smart wallets are intuitive web3 wallets that make crypto as easy to use as Apple Pay while remaining fully in control of your funds, preserving the essential decentralized and self-custodial characteristics.
How does it work?
First, rather than securing crypto with a seed phrase or a hw wallet, smart wallets can tap into the secure enclave of iOS and Android devices to turn smartphones into hardware wallets WITHOUT scarfing the self-custodial nature of the wallet. Only YOU have access to your funds.
Second, Multi-call enables users to batch multiple transactions into one atomic transaction. Whereas providing liquidity on decentralized exchanges usually requires 3 transactions for token approvals and deposits, multi-call simplifies this into a seamless one-tap experience.
Third: 3-factor authentication for maximum security
Something you know = password
Something you have = smartphone
Something you are = Face ID
Fourth: thanks to account segmentation you will be able to have in the future
- A checking account with a daily withdrawal limit
- A savings account with a time delay or 2FA on transactions above a certain amount
Better security and better control.
Fifth, you will be able to pay your transaction fees in other ERC-20 tokens than ETH which makes for a seamless user experience.
Sixth, human-readable transactions so that you always understand what’s happening.

Introducing Media Snapshots on the Lens API.
This new feature takes snapshots of media content from profiles and publications, which leads to faster loading times for users.
Applications can now enjoy the luxury of increased efficiency. This enhancement comes with the addition of two new fields to the 'MediaSet' type: 'onChain' and 'optimized'. They will each respectively hold the original uploaded content and the snapshotted content.
The type of content being snapshotted is:
• Profile pictures (not NFT PFPs)
• Profile cover photos
• Publication content under metadata media (including covers)

Today I have made an important decision in my life 📢
I quit my job today and going to focus full-time on maintaining the first-ever open-source frontend @lenster.lens 🌸 powered by @lensprotocol 🌿.
Building social media was my dream since 10th grade, I built more than 4 social media in public but all failed, Lenster is my 5th one and it’s going crazy ⚡️.
I believe building in public is key 🔑 to the success of a product.
We have a lot of items queued up in the roadmap, be excited about it 🕺
**Collect this post for 2 WMATIC and support Lenster’s development 🙏**
