Sorry for the delay, it’s been a crazy week at EthCC…
https://orb.ac/post/0x055e-0x0169
- It’s time to leave Paris 🇫🇷… what a week, where to start?
Ok first was @EthCC.lens.lens.lens & @EthCCweek.lens…
🧵
It was such a great event, full of outstanding talks, announcement and great people from the industry.
It’s the place to be if you are in crypto, the whole industry was here.
It was amazing to meet new people, see old friends and talk about how @Stacklydapp.lens.lens.lens.lens! Best DCA DeFi tool
Sadly I missed @summit.lens_defi due to a problem with my flights but some friends attended and told me about the quality excellence of the people speaking.
I feel the FOMO🥺
If you have a link to the talks please leave it below 🫶🏻
It was amazing to connect with teams we either work with or been talking about collabs for @Stacklydapp.
Then the side events, oh the side events!! 🔥 I believe there were around 300 of them. Such nice venues all around the beautiful city of Paris, more opportunities to connect closer with specific communities, projects and technologies you like. I had a blast…
Party? Who said Party?
I love the crypto energy during conferences, we never sleep, up early for events, evening for networking with some warm up drinks and parties 🎉 until sunrise, just to start over again the next day…
I always have to take a few alcohol-free weeks after…
To close the week it was @ETHGlobal.lens.lens.lens… my first time in a hackathon!
I remember a few months back having an idea while working, I talked with @Stacklydapp team and I instantly signed up for it, tbf I don’t even remember what it was… but it started the journey!
Not long after @berteotti.lens.lens.lens.lens_ joined the team, @diogomartf.lens.lens.lens.lens.lens followed. Then talking with @ocandocrypto.lens.lens.lens.lens that was helping us with a few things she said she decided to go to @EthCC, and then she also ended up in the hackathon team! Sadly @0xVenky.lens couldn’t stay in Paris for it!
During the previous 2 weeks to @EthCC we were working our 4sses of to ship the @Stacklydapp closed beta version so there were no time to think about the hackathon, during EthCC we were so busy with it that we couldn’t even meet with the team to discuss what we would built…
I had an idea related to DCA and @1inch.lens but speaking with the team a few things on the backend were needed to make it work in the way I was planning soooo idea gone.
Thursday afternoon we finally meet with the whole hackathon team and we were discussing ideas, then @diogomartf came along to say he was in need of a tool to help him Swap ETH to a basket of liquid staking tokens of his choice in one go. My first thought was: that’s too easy… it’s just a bunch of swaps… but then we keep developing the idea during the day and during Friday morning.
When we meet for @ETHGlobal opening we had a semi-solid idea of what we were building… pretty much an LSD index. The hackathon kicked off at 6pm and we were hands on building.
@berteotti_ took the lead on the frontend, doing an amazing job connecting the dots between Design and Contracts. And also carrying the team at the end solving last minute issues with confidence and determination when the team was ready to quit a few hours before the deadline
@diogomartf (also a frontend dev) took the initiative and started building the designs using Figma, I didn’t even know he could do that, he nailed it!! And actually made us win one of the partner prizes by doing so!
@ocandocrypto started organising the work by writing what we were building on paper, doing a full deep research on what partners we could use and how. She also helped connecting us with the right people when we needed tech help!
Then me, I took care of the Smart Contracts infrastructure. I will never get tired of saying it but this whole thing wouldn’t have been possible without @TenderlyApp.lens DevNets, debuggers and @dzimiks.lens that told me about them the day before.
I woke up Friday 9am and I didn’t sleep at all until Sunday 11:30am after pitching main judges and partners. So around 50 hours of no sleep at all.
I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. PLEASE DON’T DO IT, but tbh I had a goals and I was motivated and determined to accomplish it.
My goal was to create a good useful working product and ship it in time before the deadline. That was it, those were my personal expectations for it. The journey was hard, you start super motivated full of ideas and trying to organise the team.
The team is the best team I could have possible had, everyone naturally chosen it’s own responsibility and tasks were magically distributed based on what each of us have chosen to own on the product.
Each of us delivered outstandingly on their responsibilities and we had each others backs at all times. I’m super graceful to have experimented such a nice team work experience, I love you guys 🥹
@StakeGarden.lens.lens was alive after this!
The hackathon journey: it was full of motivation, fun, excitement, team work, frustration, tiredness, friendship and amazing people that helped us during the process.
We wouldn’t have shipped a working product without the incredible amount of help we got from Mentors, Partners at the booths and other hackers. It didn’t matter if it was 3pm or 4am, they were always there to help us fix bugs and clarify questions. You are amazing 🫶🏻
Also I would like to thank the ETHGlobal team for organising such a great event, everything was perfectly organised and that helped us to just focus on building while you were talking care of the rest on the backstage.
After pitching the project to judges and partners the team decided to go and get some very much needed sleep to their hotels. I decided to stay and get some sleep at the venue, I didn’t want to miss the closing ceremony and I was super tired.
I slept around 2 hours, then woke up and started chatting with some people around 2pm. I remember I was chatting with @worthalter.lens and Lucas from @poapxyz.lens (sorry I don’t have your handle) when I read the email from @TheRealKartik.lens saying we were chosen as finalists!!
I started shacking, I couldn’t believe it, I couldn’t control my emotions it was a very weird but exiting feeling, I would have never thought we would make it… I had 0 expectations for winning, I was speaking with people experienced in @ETHGlobal during ethcc saying how competitive was to get into the top 10… and WE DID IT!!!
It felt amazing ngl, one of my biggest accomplishments so far!
Then I started panicking, I got into the main stage with all the other finalists but the rest of the team was still at their hotels sleeping! In my mind I was like please please please don’t let me go through this alone! It was 2.30 and pitching was starting at 3pm.
I started calling the team, @berteotti_ and @diogomartf answered and couldn’t believe what was happening, they all rushed to the venue as fast as they could.
But @ocandocrypto was radio silent, I remember I got her number so I called her on WhatsApp and she finally replied, she had no idea what was happening she also rushed to the venue as fast as she could.
In the end the whole team made it to the stage and I was not alone!
Then at the stage, @ocandocrypto did the intro, I did the full pitch, @berteotti_ did the demo and then @diogomartf the closing!
My first time speaking in front of a stage and live-streaming too… I was super nervous but we did good!
I will never forgive this😍

- What’s new on Lens v2?
Open Actions: you will be able to execute external contracts directly from a Lens post, like minting an NFT, buying an NFT ticket, ape’ng into DeFi pools, etc
Open Namespaces: the handle is separated from the profile itself, so you could swap the handle while you still have the same profile.
ERC-6551 Profiles: have you ever tried to transfer your profile to a new wallet? It used to be quite hard cos it’s so many NFTs to transfer all your followings, collects, etc. On v2 now the profile itself owns all the assets so if you want to transfer your profile it’s just one simple transaction.
New Follow Architecture: it’s no longer mandatory to mint follow NFTs, but you still can if you want to!
Quote publications: this can now be done natively!
Profile Manager: you can now let other addresses perform certain actions on your behalf, no need of key sharing to control organisation accounts! It can also be used as a security layer, you can now store your profile on a hardware wallet and enable a software wallet to post!
On-chain block: you can now block profiles onchain! No more software based hides!
Profile Guardian: a feature that protects you against phishing attacks where you have a cool-down period of 7 days in order to be able to transfer your profile!
- Yayyyyy v2😎
