Lens V2 retains its characteristic open design space that gives developers and integrators the choice. Lens Protocol V1 launched without a user interface and has since became a launchpad for creativity, inspiring community-built social media applications such as @lenster.lens, @orbapp.lens, @buttrfly.lens, and others 💚 Open Actions sets a new milestone for composable social networking, by bringing external web3 experiences directly into Lens apps. With Open Actions, users and developers can bring their own smart contracts to enable any external smart contract action on a Lens publication. LIP-4 introduced the Profile Guardian, which improved profile safety and minimized phishing profile takeover. V2 is also adding native Quoted Publications, fostering greater engagement and creating a simplified standard for implementation across the protocol. It's comparable to quote tweets. Trust & safety remain paramount, V2 adds on-chain blocking. Blocked profiles cannot follow a profile, comment, mirror, quote, collect or conduct any open action on their content.
