☢️TLDR: competing front ends making decisions for the betterment or detriment of their users.
I’m not sure anyone understands how important the `postId` is, it’s literally the interconnection between all Lens content. If we break the links we now have a fragmented network.
📜LIP3 (share.lens.xyz) was a good temporary solution or so I thought…
👩🏫 Let’s start with some background for those who may be new.
With Lens you can publish once on any front end and the content will display across the entire protocol regardless of the front end you posted from. 🚀🪴
That’s awesome but what happens if you share a link from Lenster.xyz/p/0xhskf-7485857 but I view it in Orb?
1 of 2 things occur:
1️⃣. I click the Lenster link in Orb and I’m taken to my browser to view the content. (Poor ux)
2️⃣. Orb devs transmute the “postId” to be Orb friendly and I can view the content in-app browser or better yet natively (Buttrfly - an ideal ux flow)
So to address this issue LIP3 was created and implemented.

However and no disrespect to the team who created LIP3, the share.lens.xyz UX is clunky because it takes you away from whatever app your using to your phones mobile browser (or a new desktop tab? Idk I don’t really use desktop that often), leading to a disrupted experience.
Which brings me to the entire point of this post. 😌
I used share.lens.xyz for the first time in awhile because I was trying to point someone new to @punkess earth shattering “Getting Started” guide and I wasn’t sure which client they would be using, so the perfect opportunity to use share.lens.
I posted from Buttrfly and expected to see the share.lens.xyz link in my post but @0xmoe.lens figured out how to transform the postId into a buttrfly specific link.
So I post the link, everything looks good on my end, but then I have to check other front ends just to make sure it worked like I thought it would.
I check Lenster and I don’t see any link (which now I’m like “shoot they may get lost if the link isn’t there”) 🤔 that’s weird did I do something wrong?
I go to check Lenspeer and the link is there, but not as share.lens but as a Buttrfly link.
⏸️ Look I get it it’s a land grab for users in the early days, which will only grow as the doors are opened to the public, devs have to seize the early opportunity. ⏯️
So a couple things to wrap up….
1️⃣. That tells me the front end wars are about to be epic (this is uncharted territory) and I welcome it, healthy competition leads to great user experiences.
2️⃣. The literal “connections” of the protocol should NOT be left up to developer interpretation. This needs to be standardized at the protocol level.
Otherwise we end up with a broken and fragmented network, not a good way to start a social graph.

- Not many of you would know this, but I've been involved with the pension system since 2016.
I remember I was finishing my Master's in Business Management in the University of Chile and there were some huge riots and protests on the street.
My university was right in the middle of it, so it caught my attention.
What are all these people fighting about ?
What do they all want ?
It was the pension system
People wanted better pensions.
As an entrepreneur I could not overlook this issue.
It actually took me by storm.
I became obsessed with studying it and actually finding out whats going on.
In Chile we have a private pension system. Pension funds (US$200b of them) are managed by private entities which charge a fee for doing so.
Corrupt politicians wanted to expropiate all this $ and make it be managed by the State.
Happened in Argentina.
Happened in Venezuela.
Now they wanted to do it in Chile too.
I thought this was a Huge mistake.
Long story short, in 2019, when the riots and protests got really violent and destructive, I started to get very vocal about this.
I started growing a Twitter following.
My message started to resonate with people.
Funds should be in people's accounts, not the States.
The system should be profitable and sustainable.
And then as I dove more and more deep in the crypto rabbit hole;
Those profits that private companies made **could be shared** among savers.
The money could be managed in a **100% transparent** way.
The **returns** can be superior if invested in crypto.
And most important of all, the funds are **unexpropriable** by corrupt politicians.
This is why I launched Pension Fi

Landscape Evolution.
This image shows a series of long meandering ridges on the floor of a large ancient crater. Ridges such as these can be indicative of a number of geologic processes and tells us a story of the history of this region of Mars.
In some cases magma (molten rock) below the surface may fill an existing and somewhat vertical tectonic fracture, even pushing the fracture open in the process. As the magma cools, it solidifies into a tabular rock mass. This resulting cooled volcanic rock is called a "dike."
The new rock is often harder and more resistant to erosion than the surrounding country rock (the fractured rock of the original landscape). Later the entire region might have experience erosion from wind or water, removing weaker rocks and soils and leaving stronger rock outcrops standing. As the landscape is stripped away the harder volcanic rock remains standing as a long wall or ridge.
Alternatively glaciers often contain internal rivers from melting ice that flow along their base where the ice meets the ground. These subglacial rivers can carry enormous amounts of rocks and soil sediments, depositing them along their length. When the glacier retreats it leave behind a narrow ridge of river-bed sediments that stands above the surrounding surface. In this case the ridge is called an "esker."
A river flowing along the surface in the absence of a glacier can produce erosion and deposition along the river bed. It can also chemically alter the river bottom, through deposition of minerals and salts that cement the soils and rocks. Later, after the river has dried up, erosion of the landscape can leave the altered river bed standing above the surrounding terrain, called an "inverted channel."
So what happened in Peta Crater? Analysis of this image might reveal characteristics, such as layers along the ridge walls that would indicate the ridge was deposited by flowing water. Rocks and boulders might be found eroding from the ridge, their size and shape offering clues to the strength of the ridge material; fractured and angular solid rock from a dike or loosely bound rounded boulders tumbled along a river bed.
