- @ethglobal.lens Lisbon booth visitors and @letsraave.lens attendees have been allow-listed 🌿
- Today marks our 1 Year Anniversary of making friends onchain 🎂!
Thank you to everyone who has made the first year of Lens Protocol so special and groundbreaking. Lens has brought together builders, creators, communities, and friends, all while in beta.
There's so much planned for the second year ahead, and we can't wait to continue to grow with all of you.
Who did you become frens with on Lens?
🎨 by @nftsushi.lens and all collect proceeds go directly to the artist.
- She adds: "I really enjoy making fun images that would either make people laugh or feel happy by looking at them." For us, they certainly do. And if you're similarly enamoured with Duairak's style, her creations are available to buy from her store as patches, calendars, and even specially commissioned rugs. (We've got our eyes on the angry cloud.)
- Duairak Padungvichean's magical illustrations are a whimsical wonder
- “I would love to see entrepreneurs building small use cases and iterating. Many ideas will fail but the point is to build fast, keep iterating and learning. Lens makes it easier and less risky to experiment.” @stani.lens at #ETHDenver
- Of her recent work, she says: "This feeling of the uncanny, the uncomfortable, is projected in my relentless attempt to question, deconstruct and reassemble existing social frameworks. This reconstruction usually takes the form of photography, video and installation art. But is always recreated from the mindʼs eye of an eternally, cynical idealist."
- Zaher's work usually comments on current events. "These can range from the highly political to the highly personal and all the shades in between. I like to experiment with visual and linguistic meaning, as a way to reinterpret the obvious or familiar. This is usually done by combining different visual content to bring about a different narrative."
- "Global warming and its impacts in the Arctic is a topical issue that affects us all, even if it is geographically far away," he explains. "This northernmost region of the world has been profoundly affected by the climate crisis, making scientific research there more urgent.
- Gregor is an Austrian artist and photographer working in the fields of art and architecture. His work explores how buildings and structures can represent economic, political and social ideas, and he often creates images in remote or hard-to-access locations. This series is no exception.

- Seeing the differences in approaches and the curious questions that arose from describing oneself when meeting to describing an illustration was marvellous. Moreover, the workshop was like preparatory work for my project idea and a good opportunity to test the feasibility of this concept.
- I hope to draw more attention to women in society," she concludes. "Everyone in modern society has different pressures, and not everyone can understand the pressures of different groups. I hope my work can construct a 'female vision' and record multi-dimensional information in an artistic way. I hope it lets more people understand the current situation and problems of contemporary women.
- After graduating, I decided to stay in New York because there are many illustration-related activities in the city every year," she reveals. "I enjoy participating in these events because I always make new friends. Having lived here for a long time, the subjects of my paintings have also been affected because I like to record my observations and the trivial things in life.
- After studying at China's Central Academy of Fine Arts for a year, Zhiyu found that the exam-oriented education was not to her liking. To change things up, she moved to the United States to study illustration at the School of Visual Arts, which further broadened her cultural and artistic horizons.
- However, Zhiyu is keenly aware that her upbringing is sadly not typical in China, as many families still harbour a strong preference for raising a son. "When I was still studying in China, many of the girls in my class had brothers at home," she explains. "Mothers still need to give birth to a boy after giving birth to girls to improve their family status. In some areas, mothers who do not have sons are disrespected by the family.
"Fortunately, I was born into a family where my parents didn't devalue me because I am a girl. But many female friends around me are still struggling and treated unfairly by society and their families because they are women. I hope that through my work, I can help girls still being treated unfairly."

- The limited edition box set includes CD and gatefold vinyl of the new 2023 remastered The Dark Side of The Moon studio album and Blu-Ray + DVD audio featuring the original 5.1 mix and remastered stereo versions. The set also includes an additional new Blu-ray disc of Atmos mix, plus CD and LP of 'The Dark Side of The Moon – Live At Wembley Empire Pool, London, 1974', a 160-page hardback photo book, a music book, replica 7" singles and memorabilia.

- To achieve this, Vasava collaborated with Found Studio to create stunning CGI and further develop the narrative. This collaboration brought the 'Cube' to life, while Combustion Studio provided a unique sound design to complete the immersive experience.
- "This year, our approach was to capture the venue's vibe," explained Enric Godes, managing partner at Vasava. Godes told Creative Boom that his team was inspired by the Disseny Hub's concrete, brutalist architecture aesthetic. Vasava's goal was to translate that aesthetic into "a hero's journey-like story, where the Cube – that represents the audience – wanders throughout all the different stages and spaces of the festival. It allows us to show, metaphorically, ideas about the artists, the process, the skillsets, the downfalls, and consequently, it gives us a deeper understanding of the creative process."
- This year's OFFF Festival channels a brutalist hero's journey for its identity
- The energy and tone found in In Love take their inspiration from the world around the studio, as well as other artists and animations. "If we had to name one major influence for the look of In Love, it would have to be anime," Christine reveals. "We love the sophisticated buttery-smooth camera moves often used in anime. We tried to incorporate some of that style into our animation experiments that eventually became the short film."
- "However, we also wanted to use this piece to empower women and normalise the idea of us ladies shooting our shot. It was important to us to showcase a female character who was confident in expressing her feelings and taking the initiative while not letting her fears and anxiety hold her back. We hope that message resonates with audiences as much as the visuals."

- Her process usually starts with finding a particular second-hand sweater. "I usually get them from charity places where they sort second-hand clothing but sell the 'unsellable' ones for a bit less," she explains. "So the sweaters are already in need of mending.
- The series took a year to complete, and Cookie teases that there are more details to come about a possible release or exhibition. Send Nudes isn't over and done with yet, though. In fact, Cookie needs help with the biggest challenge facing the project: submissions from women.

- How, we wondered, does she approach creating her unique art forms? "What has inspired me most in doing my knitwork is the thought of a wearable piece that moves around the everyday surrounding a person's body and affects the visual elements in the spaces it enters," she explains. "So when I start a piece, it's usually the thought of its effect and how it moves around, hopefully bringing out some smiles and laughter.
- Cookie adds that her favourite parts of the series are the locations where the pictures are set. These include poster-clad bedrooms, sinks in bathroom toilets and the classic shower mirror surrounded by soap and plants. According to the artist, these all help to tell the whole story about the women themselves.
