My first reaction reading about the alleged @lens/etherfi token distribution (85% of tokens to 500 wallets) was: that’s a joke 🤡.
And I still hope it’s some CT story.
However it made me think how decentralised crypto/ web3 projects actually are. Is “decentralisation” a meme?

- Yuragi headlines new NAVI rosterAfter three years spent at OG, Yuragi heads back home and joins Natus Vincere.
Artem "Yuragi" Golubiev made his competitive debut at the beginning of 2020 playing through the Eastern Europe region. A year later he was scouted and recruited by OG, who were passing the torch from the back to back TI Champions to a new generation of players. Along with Bozhidar "bzm" Bogdanov and Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf, Yuragi was at the foundation of OG’s fresh start.
Through his three year stay with the organisation, Yuragi claimed with OG his first Major title and first victories in international events. He was moved to an inactive position last month as the team was preparing for DreamLeague Season 22.
The next season of DreamLeague will find Yuragi at Natus Vincere, as the Ukrainian organisation announced him as their new carry. In under ten days, NAVI will compete for a spot at DreamLeague Season 23 with two new players joining their ranks. Along with Yuragi, NAVI have also welcomed aboard Sukhbat "sanctity-" Otgondavaa, a young mid laner who made himself noticed at Lilgun during the Dota Pro Circuit leagues and more recently at IHC Esports.
“With these signings, we plan not only to strengthen our Dota 2 roster but also to adjust the club’s strategic development vector towards the gradual formation of an international roster, as well as changing the language of communication to English,” said Amiran "ami" Rekhviashvili, NAVI Head of Esports.

In fact, “Mayab” means flat in the Yucatec Maya language.
Despite a general lack of elevations, the Mexican Peninsula is anything but boring though: The Cenotes (sinkholes), Mayan Heritage, as well as beautiful villages and lagoons, make for an excellent travel destination - we couldn’t have started the year any better 🥳

- **Dota 2 pros unable to play ranked after losing smurf privileges**
Professional *Dota 2* players have started losing access to their smurf accounts, preventing them from playing ranked matches, an issue that Seleri and Ace brought up on X (formerly Twitter.)
Gaimin Gladiators’ two-star players planned to play a ranked game together as practice, but they couldn’t due to the queue times exceeding 90 minutes to find a ranked match. A couple of months ago, this would be an activity that they could easily do with their smurf accounts, which had lower MMR.
Since Jan. 15, Valve has banned an SA Dota 2 star in the middle of DreamLeague qualifiers due to breaching account sharing and smurfing guidelines. The associated *Dota 2* roster was also dropped by their organization, while ESL also made ruling changes to back up Valve’s stance on smurfing . Following these events, Valve banned almost all professional *Dota 2* players’ smurf accounts, as the developer wanted all players to own a single account.
While a small minority of the pro-player scene disagreed with the decisions, others were happy to oblige, but the negative impacts of the new smurfing guidelines started to show up. Even if the top professional players decide to play solo, it can take longer than 40 minutes to find a match. This mainly happens because there tend to be around 10 to 15 high-ranked players looking for a match at most times.
When only 10 players get into a high-level match, the remaining pool of players has to wait for a match to finish unless the matchmaking system can find 10 people to start a second match. In other competitive games that share the same faith, in-house leagues and solutions like FaceIt often save the day for professional players.
These systems allow pros to gather and host games amongst themselves, and they were also a part of the *Dota 2* pro ecosystem in the mid-2010s. However, based on Dot Esports knowledge of these in-house leagues, most of these organizations only remained live for a couple of months before they were deserted due to drama or players still valuing their MMR and preferring to play ranked matches instead.
- TACO TUESDAY TAKE 🌮
Turning an idea into reality hinges on attention to detail and thorough planning. However, it's just as important to start taking action.
Simply beginning your project and maintaining steady progress can be the most effective way to bring it to life. Each step forward, no matter how small, builds momentum and helps your project grow. This momentum not only drives your project but also helps you identify and fix any issues, making your strategy more effective.
While paying attention to details is crucial, it's the act of starting and consistently moving forward that really gets your idea off the ground and turns it into something tangible.
- hey friends, this is what I built for the LFGHO Hackathon : https://ghooey.netlify.app/
It's called ghooey. It's a no build, drop-in front-end toolkit to build and integrate custom Aave widgets easily in existing web2 codebases using just HTML markup.
ghooey is built on Alpine.js, which makes it easy to use and extend if needed.
My personal take is that to truly have widespread adoption in web3, we need to have tools that even a dev maintaining a Symfony 2 codebase could use without (too much) hassle. More than 40% of websites are build with WordPress, 80% are still using jQuery... And even new devs still learn jQuery in school. Building on Web3 already requires very specific knowledge and skillsets, but Web3 front-end is quite a challenge.
That's why I wanted to build something that abstracts the complex part of building Web3 widgets while keeping it flexible, extensible and simple.
So that's how ghooey came to be (gho, GUI, gooey... Get it?). It's a proof-of-concept more than a complete toolkit ; I added (an attempt at) documention to go more in-depths on how to use it, along with example code samples.
Did you guys participate to LFGHO as well ? What did you build?

- MONEY ACCUMULATION TEST TO INCREASE YOUR INCOME IN 2024
How do you explain despite all the knowledge available so many people struggle financially?
Or even better...
How do you explain why some people despite very little access to resources still manage to create prosperity for themselves?
I believe the answer lies in our fears around money.
If you have any kind of fears about financial success this will slow you down.
You might even sabotage yourself.
Let's try something.
Take a deep breath...
Now imagine making DOUBLE of what you are currently making.
How are you feeling?
Good? Stressed? Anxious?
Now, imagine making 10 times what you're currently making.
How are you feeling?
Uncomfortable or excited?
Pay attention to how you are feeling when you imagine yourself making much more money.
Because if you have any kind of fear, guilt or anger you need to address it.
You need to be able to actually let go of any guilt or any weirdness around piling up cash in your bank account.
Hit reply and let me know how you felt doing the test.
Have an amazing day!
