into the storm and around the bend,
unsure what’d be waiting at the end.
the beginning of something fresh and new,
but not without question of what she’d do.
most go to the desert for peace. we went for mayhem. all warnings unheeded. brutal wind potential with no cover. micro bullets pounding exposed skin from every direction. pouring grains out of clothing for 3 days. sacrificing all camera equipment for the shot. a scene hollywood can’t make without a mad max budget. likely the most non-recreatable image i’ve ever formed. all for a project from the heart with a dear friend who rented a van & covered hotels. 0 pay. of course this is how it goes most of the time for freelance creatives working on the “cool” stuff. 2,142 miles of a loop journey all at the beginning of a new chapter in my life wading into unfamiliar waters with a relationship but inspired & fired up creatively while exploring the craziest places on earth that were once under the ocean during the dinosaur age. watch the short film here, called FORBIDDEN STRUCTURES by DADAYEARZERO:

- Fairly certain it appears there’s zero animosity here towards newcomers sharing and listing their art for sale for whatever they feel like. AKA the way it should be. Twitter cabal made it feel like you had to tickle their pickle for months just to have approval feeling okay asking for your value, and even then you were probably scorned for listing at .2 ETH because how absurd that was, how dare you, the horror
- Super Mario Bros. 1950s AI Edition
Abandoned Films envisions what a Super Mario Bros. movie could have been if shot in the Super Panavision 70 format during the 1950s. This surreal interpretation of Nintendo's famous plumber duo is made even more psychedelic through the use of generative AI technology. The images were created by Midjourney, the video by Runway, the voices by ElevenLabs, and the script was written by ChatGPT.
- gm, don’t sleep on the digital renaissance happening on Lens.
Collecting pieces from artists and creators on Lens feels like being part of the next big thing.
Don't sleep on your collection, no matter how small or big it is. Who knows? Some of these pieces might be the next big thing in a few years.
We're at the start of something huge in digital art.

I find it’s a little easier to be human on Lens, compared to other social media. Even in the midst of a struggle, or when you’re feeling flawed or hurt, there is a supportive community that exists here.
I decided to let some difficult experiences inform my work. It made me a little more vulnerable than I’m used to, but resulted in an honest expression. This track serves as a reminder of that process.

- After one week, my revenue for my photography is here. As a photographer, I am very happy to be in the @lens/lens and @lens/orb community for over a year. This is one of the best places where artists are seen more.
- It's Sunday morning, "springtime" in Germany with a chilly 2 degrees, wind, rain, and I believe even hail.
Almost as if the weather yearned to remind me of winter's gloom one last time before swinging into summer.
So, I woke up with my mind in Barcelona instead. GM

- ‘Just me and nature’
The serene but eerie path I follow captivated by emerald fog covered by towering trees that overpower me but their outlines softened by the mists embrace, leaving me to discover what lies beyond the thick veil of green haze.
The atmosphere is heavy with the magic of the unseen. This place captivates me and captures a moment of tranquil yet haunting beauty, a scene straight from a horror story.
Now it really is ‘just me and nature’
- I am happy that I was finally able to visit White Sands last week. Amazingly surreal place.

Another favorite from the vault that I've been saving for @lens/lens. In the heart of the West Village, where cobblestone streets whisper tales of bygone eras, a solitary figure moves along, mirrored in the inverted reflection of freshly washed windshield. Amidst the urban symphony of concrete and graffiti, the scene evokes a surreal dance between the tangible and the ethereal, inviting contemplation on the interconnectedness of our surroundings and our selves.
- Wow, amazing and horrifying at the same time! This is SAND, not snow.
- Let’s get things started!
My name is Erik Marin. I’m a former paramedic now photographer based in NYC. I capture those fleeting moments that would otherwise go unnoticed, bringing the beauty of the streets around us to life through my lens. 📸

some moments leave us changed forever in ways we could have never imagined. moments that we can try to recreate but may have no desire to because nothing will be as good as the first, & oh was this as perfect as could be. a ridiculously magical day in kyoto, my final of the maiden voyage to japan in 2018. the debut of tapping into parallel dimensions. the only time visiting a destination not using my camera. 6 hours of broad daylight with the phone in airplane mode left untouched. highest levels of presence. seeing sound. feeling energy pummeling through my body & out my fingertips. reading humans around me through vibrations only. an alignment of the universe that took many elements coming to fruition. ultimate peace in a place as spiritual as the fushimi inari shrine followed up with absolute mayhem in a cab ride from hell. one second i’m watching the busy, rush hour street of the city expand & contract in front of me & the next we’re whipping through a bamboo forest we had only seen as complete serenity on instagram. was i dreaming? warp speed through outer space the way these stalks were flying by on this path barely wide enough for a golf cart. i glance back at greg in the backseat, who was on the same adventure as me like “are we supposed to be driving through this?” as i turn around to face the front this disgruntled driver, with the most negative vibes i’ve ever felt from a japanese person, hits a girl with the left mirror, which folds back to absorb the impact. in the mirror i see her clutching her elbow as her man throws his arms in the sky, all the while keeps going like nothing happened. immediately i have thoughts sweep over me of having to file police reports & i instantly turn to the man signaling to stop. “arigato gozaimasu arigato gozaimasu!!” holding my hands up like NOW STOP. acting pissed that we weren’t grateful for his special tour he slams on the brakes, i jump out, dan pays him, he peels away, & all of a sudden it’s peaceful again. these giant bamboo stems blowing in the wind, creaking with every movement. no sign of the tourists that were hit, as we must have made it far enough for them to not see three gaijin in the vehicle. it was now that i finally turned on my camera that had been hanging around my neck all day without use. within minutes a cab from another era comes up behind us, passes, & those who were once in the way are back in the path as if the car drove right through them a la the old subway train in ghostbusters. i snapped. another gift from the universe but this time on quite possibly the craziest, most enlightening day of my life in a metaphoric way i could have never drawn up. we eventually exited the woods & ate dinner at a restaurant that had the most mystical restroom i’ve ever stepped foot in, i put headphones in with kendrick lamar - damn, we wandered back to the airbnb via some trains, i took one look at IG & asked myself “what are you even doing with this?” & proceeded to archive/delete everything / unfollow everyone. who the fuck are all these people??? it was the beginning of the end of subjecting myself to systems that others have built to control us through these computers in our hands.
6 years later i believe we have what we needed to escape those systems. 6 years later i returned to kyoto for the first time & created zero images with a camera. purely experience. that’s the way it will stay forever, so anything from this particular day remains rare & largely untouched even today.

- What app are people using to access Lens? What is best for artists (I'm a photographer.) So far I am using Hey and Buttrfly and I find Buttrfly to be nice with the channels available. I prefer to use mostly with desktop, but have downloaded Orb and was going to try that too. Well, I like the option of both mobile and desktop.
- Sharing a giant redwood bonsai to you bonsai lovers. I am the magical forest elf type photographer, so I have many photographs of trees.....and deserts. My two favs.
- I wanted to introduce myself in a more proper way here. I'm Kristin Piljay and I love taking photographs of magical places that I visit that highlight what is amazing and awe-inspiring in this world. In a general way, I'm a travel and nature photographer, with a special love for forests, owls and surreal places.

My latest 1/1 drop is another all time favorite. This one took quite a bit of planning and even more patience. If you're familiar with the Oculus in NYC you know how busy it could be, especially during this time of day when the sun shines through directly overhead. Waiting for the right subject was key here. After 2 consecutive days of trying, he finally emerged, alone in the shadows, and well in motion 💨

- Welcome to the My Lens Journey series!
Next up in our series, we're sharing @lens/cristinaspinei's journey in the Lens garden **🌿**
Check out her story below 👇
*📌* **When did your Lens journey start?**
My @lens/lens journey started two years ago - I can hardly believe it’s been that long! @lens/christina invited me to join in the beginning (thanks Christina!!).
Being on Lens has completely changed how I think of social media. I’ve been able to experiment with different types of drops with everything from CC0 licenses to 1/1s.
It was so much fun releasing my series of Lens Loops and seeing other people remix them for their own projects.
*📌* **What's your favorite thing about the Lens ecosystem?**
There’s so much about the Lens ecosystem that I like, it’s hard to choose a favorite. What stands apart from any other platform is the ethos of Lens.
Everyone seems supportive of one another and I enjoy talking to people from different backgrounds. On Lens I’ve made friends with people who are developers, engineers, everything!
And of course it’s been a joy discovering and collecting art and music. This early period of Lens feels very special and I hope it will always be this way.
*📌* **Your favorite Lens app?**
The first app I check in the morning is @lens/orb. I love the Club feature and how easy it is to post and collect work. Orb was the first Lens app that I downloaded and it’s still my go-to.
*📌* **What are your expectations for the Lens ecosystem in 2024?**
I think Lens will become a central hub for all things web3. It has already changed how I release music.
Instead of dropping something on an outside platform, I’ve been releasing my music NFTs directly on Lens. As more people join I think we’ll see more of this. For me, it has made other platforms redundant.
I think the same will happen for Defi. The ability to swap tokens, trade, etc. will all be possible through Lens.
