In the light of going permissionless, we added more community gardeners (and kept some Lens team members for now) to the report spam/bots and low quality signals. As usual, the protocol allows anyone to post content and interact with other users. Lens API is used to enable enhanced experience across Lens apps thats using Lens. Here is the list (if you want to help, feel free to drop your name below in the comments) lens/pedrovilela lens/nilesh lens/kipto lens/zkjew lens/arterlioz lens/augustuscaesar lens/jamesfinnerty lens/1_cryptoman lens/definn lens/albiverse lens/punkess lens/lens lens/aave lens/stani lens/wagmi lens/yoginth lens/bradorbradley lens/christina lens/pablo lens/essah lens/sasicodes lens/jouni lens/paris lens/nicolo lens/helpfulbrother lens/cantech lens/pawel lens/cesare lens/cree These profiles operate with 3 strike system. Report once = 1 week rate limit, report twice = 3 week rate limit, report three times = indefinite rate limit on the API. Kind reminder that rate limit will only reduce reach through Lens API (used by many of the Lens apps) and apps that have their own backend that would reflect the gardener actions. Developers have the opt-in option to use it or not. Reported users data is still retrievable from the protocol level and these users (most likely bots) would be still able to interact with the protocol but friendly apps won't give them reach. There is no data available for who reported a profile for obvious reasons, however flags can be disputed (dispute system can be created via LIP for example). This system is a quick win for permissionless and can be improved and governed via LIP as we the community can assess how the system works. Adding and removing names could also be governed via LIP in the future (i.e. removing Lens team members etc). Hopefully gardeners will make Lens a better place upon going permissionless. (0 b) "hello world" posts get quite some attention ... 😉 . (if you can post something related to what you are interested in ... 🎇 -> People you start following might take a look at your profile and follow if they are interested in the content you share.) Find one great example at the end of the post. If you are interested in lens mobile apps, @lens/orbapp and @lens/buttrfly are at the moment - imo - the most advanced general purpose lens mobile apps. One of the beautiful things regarding lens is that it doesn't matter which lens app you use, every lens app has access to the same content and social graph. (4) what you share on lens is stored and publicly available for a very long time. Probably forever. You can hide posts, comments and mirrors. But that's a front-end feature, the data is still available and publicly accessible. (5) "collects" are a very powerful concept, adding a NFT version of the post to your address (4th symbol below a post on @lens/hey ). Collects can be monetised -> creators can use collect fees to earn money on lens. one more thing :-) being active, commenting on posts and topics you are interested in goes a long way. Of course there is a chance that your posts will be discovered, commented and mirrored, but you increase the probability of being discovered dramatically with valuable comments. @lens/jeanmi : "be yourself, try to engage with people, sharing images seems to accelerate engagement/growth, people love to 'GM'" It is quite challenging to get attention, especially for new profiles. Imo still one of the best (high quality) growth hacks I’ve seen on lens yet (0 to 100 followers). Maybe you can think of something inspired by @lens/animators ’ idea based on your talent and skills.
