- Today marks our 1 Year Anniversary of making friends onchain 🎂!
Thank you to everyone who has made the first year of Lens Protocol so special and groundbreaking. Lens has brought together builders, creators, communities, and friends, all while in beta.
There's so much planned for the second year ahead, and we can't wait to continue to grow with all of you.
Who did you become frens with on Lens?
🎨 by @nftsushi.lens and all collect proceeds go directly to the artist.
- In 2015 she completed an MA in Graphic and Media Design from the University of the Arts London. The course sparked her interest in mediums such as video art, digital collage and installation art – all of which she uses today.
- Of her recent work, she says: "This feeling of the uncanny, the uncomfortable, is projected in my relentless attempt to question, deconstruct and reassemble existing social frameworks. This reconstruction usually takes the form of photography, video and installation art. But is always recreated from the mindʼs eye of an eternally, cynical idealist."
- $BNB / $USD - Update I am currently short while below $315.50. Tight stop loss on this, but structure wise looks like we could top over in the short term
- After studying at China's Central Academy of Fine Arts for a year, Zhiyu found that the exam-oriented education was not to her liking. To change things up, she moved to the United States to study illustration at the School of Visual Arts, which further broadened her cultural and artistic horizons.

This drop celebrates S7E15 with @christina - an eye-opening conversation covering her time growing web2 social at TikTok to now growing web3 social at Lens.
From championing the curator to breaking down the new era of user-generated content, our session dives into a ton.
The inspiration behind this drop stems from the realization that a creator's community of collectors will surpass its community of followers.
Lens currently embodies this best and has enabled a new experiment between the intersection of content distribution and collection.
I've been active on here for months now and consistently get more engagement across web3 social, though I have yet to experiment with its full potential.
That changes tomorrow.
Drop details:
When: Thursday (tomorrow), 12 PM PST
Where: On Lens (URL texted Thursday)
Format: 24 hr open edition
Collect: 1 $WMATIC
(You **do not** need a Lens profile to collect).
Since I'm dropping this native on Lens, I will not be using my website.
Rather, I'll be sending a brief text + URL to collect via Laylo.

- "This feels anything but traditional," she concludes. "The visuals are over-the-top weird, artful and pique your curiosity, yet totally makes sense with the progressive museum's proximity. We also worked super hard on the '64' typographic library and pattern series.
"And just like art exhibitions, I love that the branding can constantly evolve and feel fresh – like '64' with ribbon lettering for the holidays, etc. – yet all together, it remains timeless."
- As well as tapping into the creativity that's quite literally on Gallery 64's doorstep, Pum attributes the campaign's success to Design Army's decision to look different. With the vast majority of apartment advertising relying on similar-looking stock photos and super conservative design, the creative team had a blank canvas on which they could make their own distinctive mark.
- When it comes to finding somewhere to live, there's always a lot to consider. But while most real estate campaigns focus on price, location, and the number of bedrooms, Design Army has decided to focus on artistic appeal for a new DC apartment building called Gallery 64.
That's because the Washington-based complex occupies a unique position next to The Rubell Museum, an establishment famed for its progressive art exhibitions and contemporary collection.
"The property is also surrounded by 15 other brand-new developments with similar amenities, features and fees – all targeting the same demographics," Pum tells Creative Boom. "Design Army was tapped to bring their wild creativity to help Gallery 64 stand out in DC's hyper-booming real estate market."
- You can successfully manage your PR in many ways: from attending networking events and being someone people love to chat with to making friends with journalists and securing a feature in your favourite design magazine. Equally, you can make many rookie mistakes, too, that damage how people see you. And that's not good for business.
You might be surprised to learn what those mistakes are. We'll share five of the most common mishaps and offer advice to boost your reputation. (Graduates and job seekers, take note! The following advice applies to you, too!)
- For creative freelancers, the start of the year is often a quiet time, with few enquiries coming in. In a normal year, that can generate a sense of unease. But in 2023, with prices rising and the world economy facing so many challenges, it's easy to get overburdened with stress about where your next paycheck is coming from.
- Of all the projects featured, Jon highlights her Vogue cover. "Vogue asked Marta to design her 'dream cover' around the time we were coming out of the global pandemic," explains Jon. "She followed in the footsteps of other artists such as George Plank, Helen Dryden, Andy Warhol, Salvador Dalí and Carl Erickson, who Vogue has commissioned to create special, non-photographic covers.
"It's my understanding that Marta wanted to create something that suggested the resilience shown during this extremely difficult period in which Covid dominated. It's such an iconic image that you can pour your own meaning into, but for me, it radiates human strength. It's beautiful, meaningful, and the last piece to appear in the book."
- Over the last 14 years, Cerdà Alimbau has offered art direction, design, illustration and custom typography for arts, culture and advertising clients in her native Barcelona and abroad. Clients include Vogue, Spotify, Apple and Converse, to name a few.
Throughout the pages of Type to Image, we see some of these work highlights, including her time at Cooper Union, where she explored and experimented, embarking on a journey from calligraphy to illustration, with various stops along the way. She discusses these many disciplines, how she has tackled them through her work, and how each relates to the other and overlaps. It's a helpful narrative for any creative, encompassing anything from typeface design to digital illustration, book covers, posters, advertorial graphics, wine labels and more.
- But if you want to ensure a comfortable and hassle-free trip, the right equipment, accessories and clothing can be super-helpful. So in this shopping guide, we've curated the ideal kit for any creative embarking on a spring/summer city break, to help you stay energised, refreshed, and full of ideas while you're away.
- Designed by Emily Macaulay of Stanley James Press, People of Park Hill saw BJP Portrait Of Britain winners Isy and Leigh Anderson get their boots on the ground to snap their subject. "We spent an amazing couple of weeks shooting the project," says Leigh Anderson. "And we were really moved by the strong community spirit that the place has.
"Obviously, there has been a lot of regeneration which has attracted a new community of people to the estate. But we loved that at its heart, Park Hill still has some of its original residents, people who had grown up and lived there during its earlier years."
- He does travel overseas – as inspiration for documenting scenery and as a way to provide contrast to the landscapes he captures locally. Hei is particularly interested in the organic form of trees, mountains and clouds, and many of his artworks will use different viewpoints and angles to bring these features to life.
But without a doubt, it's light and how it touches nature that he's most besotted with: "Nature always looks different according to the time of day. I'm always chasing the light."
- Besides observing how colours evolve over time and across vistas, Hei is equally fascinated considering how humans interact in nature – "I love watching what people from cities do when immersed in nature. Positioning them in my paintings serves as inspiration."
- Once back in the studio, Hei is beset on combining his collected sketches and transforming these figments of his imagination onto the page. This process takes around two to three weeks to complete a six-foot canvas, but it's a labour of love that allows him to relive the beauty of the landscapes he's interacted with.
