- Well, I ain't gotta dollar
But I don't need a dime
I got a little spot in the country
Where I spend all of my time
When the sun goes down on this itty-bitty town
We can light up the bowl and pass it around
And I ain't gotta dollar
But I don't need a dime
Well, the rain could be pourin'
Or the sun shinin' down
Long as my old truck still fires on up
And there's crops growin' in the ground
We'll have to pick some muscadine right off the vine
Get a little yeast and make a little wine
'Cause I ain't gotta dollar
But I don't need a dime
- Our team has done a lot of work on lowering the cost of proving transactions inside a zkRollup. The new zkEVM prover can prove transactions at a rough cost of $0.000052/tx.
For scaling context: you could prove every post, comment, follow, mirror and collect on @LensProtocol for under $1300, less than 1 ETH... and we are just getting started.
Tag other popular apps and I'll reply with how much it would cost to prove all their transactions, and get ready to see these optimizations over on Polygon zkEVM soon :)
- Today marks our 1 Year Anniversary of making friends onchain 🎂!
Thank you to everyone who has made the first year of Lens Protocol so special and groundbreaking. Lens has brought together builders, creators, communities, and friends, all while in beta.
There's so much planned for the second year ahead, and we can't wait to continue to grow with all of you.
Who did you become frens with on Lens?

- **Context: data that helps give meaning to other data.**
Smart contracts rely on a lot of context when building efficient systems. In the multichain world, **context is getting left behind**, with trusted oracles & inefficient systems left instead.
**It's time to bridge that context**
An example of context: wstETH. Any wallet can hold the wstETH token and interact with it, however contracts might like to know the rate between wstETH and stETH. This *context* is provided by the contract via *`stEthPerToken()`*.
https://etherscan.io/token/0x7f39c581f595b53c5cb19bd0b3f8da6c935e2ca0#readContract#F10
The problem arises once wstETH is bridged to another network. This context, **is no longer present in the bridged token**. Instead contracts must rely on a trusted oracle or operate without the information, both suboptimal solutions.
For my fomo #ETHLisbon hack, I built `Context Provider`, a pair of contracts that lets anyone bridge rate provider data from Ethereum to Polygon PoS & zkEVM using `FxPortal`. No permissioned actors. No oracles. Designed to bring contextual `ERC-4626` data to a multichain world.

- Spent part of the weekend re-reading the GHO Technical Paper, and it has made me so excited to see it live.
Dropping some of my key takeaways and what makes GHO different from other stablecoins:
1) GHO x Aave - the first facilitator described by the GHO paper is the Aave Market. With the Aave Market issuing stablecoins, which are the #1 borrow token type, expect the interest rate for GHO to be lower than that of USDC, DAI and more. With no suppliers to compensate with interest, the GHO borrow rate is pure profit for the DAO and can undercut other stables.
2) Facilitators - the GHO section of the paper doesn't describe any specific stable, issuance or redemption mechanism, just the ability for governance to add and give limits to different strategies called "facilitators". My read is that governance will evaluate a multitude of strategies and onboard many, since exposure to each can be capped via facilitator limits.
3) Modular design - while the source code for GHO isn't released (I can't wait to dive in myself), this model of facilitators makes adding new strategies super modular. Things that may be complex in other stables (D3M, LiquidityInjection, CollateralInvestor, PSM) can be coded and audited in a much easier manner.
Read the paper for yourself and let me know what you think!

- If you could directly query the @lensapi.lens database (still in a graphql query) to be able to build your own custom queries and bulk fetch any data you wish would you use it? seeing more and more need for this IMO!
- # 0.1.0 - 23rd December 2022\n\nThe Lens Core Team is excited to announce the first Developer Preview release of the official Lens SDK.\n\nThe Lens SDK will greatly improve the developer experience of building with the Lens API. It allows you to integrate with the Lens Protocol in seconds and gives you full control over the UX of your app.\n\nThis is just the beginning for the Lens SDK. We are starting with a collection of React Hooks and will add a low-level API Client for more advanced integrations, beyond React.\n\nTry out the Developer Preview release and tell us what you think!
https://github.com/lens-protocol/lens-sdk\n\nIn this release:
\n- feat: authentication w/ transparent token renewal\n- feat: React Hooks to:\n - fetch publications\n - fetch profiles\n - fetch followers/following\n - create post\n - fetch feed\n - notifications\n- feat: wagmi integration
\n\nSee the initial documentation at: https://docs.lens.xyz

- we will be doing a database migration moving to aurora to allow our pings worldwide to be faster, general speed up of all queries, having many read databases with auto-scale, alongside having read and write separate databases for memory reasons. This will mean on 08:15AM GMT Thursday 22nd December write actions will be down for 20 minutes.
- indexer will not index any new publications, profiles etc
- reactions and other parts will not be able to be actioned
once the migration is complete the indexer will catch up with anything it missed of course anything on-chain will still go on-chain but not be shown in the API if done in that period until it is back.
Reads will continue working as normal throughout the migration process.
Happy building all!
- 3 days, 5 mountains*

- Some DeFi musings exclusive for the Lensverse:
(from the cutting room floor of a @frenlyghostlabs.lens whiteboard session)
Why Balancer Boosted Aave (bb-a-*) tokens make Balancer the most attractive DEX:
DEXs fundamentally need to attract LPs/market makers who are willing to provide liquidity between to assets. Their reward are trading fees, which ideally are greater than the potential loss they face in exposure to poor assets, or impermanence loss (loss of upside vs holding appreciating assets - holding an ETH/USDC LP will cause you to miss out on gains if ETH goes up vs holding ETH alone).
This is why projects generally do various forms of liquidity mining, to help incentivize otherwise unattractive LP positions.
Another key risk of LP-ing that people don't always consider is opportunity cost - particularly with consideration to the ETH or USD side of a pairing. That ETH could be staked, that USD could be in Aave, making the LP position even less attractive.
This is where Balancer Boosted Aave LPs really shine. Using Balancer's Linear Pool technology, a majority of the Balancer Pool can be deposited into Aave, earning yield. This helps make the LP more attractive by offsetting the opportunity cost, as well as adding additional yield to help reward market makers for taking the IL risk. This means projects don't have to do as much liquidity mining, and will see higher base liquidity when using bb-a-* LP tokens.
You can trial using bb-a-* LPs today with bb-a-usd and bb-am-usd on Mainnet and Polygon respectively, and stay tuned for many more pairs leveraging the power of Aave V3 and Balancer V2 💪

- We want to address the cycle of liquidations that occurred in the CRV pool on the Aave Protocol today. The liquidations were successful (and worked as designed), but unfortunately, the size of the position left some excess debt within the protocol.
A large CRV borrow that had been building up for the last week was mostly cleared by the protocol liquidation process. However, the position was not covered entirely and 2.64M CRV (≈ null.6M at current value) remains. This represents less than 0.1% of the borrows on the protocol.
The Aave ecosystem was built with a number of mechanisms that the Aave community can deploy to cover events like this, including the Safety Module, the Ecosystem Reserve & the DAO Treasury.
In the coming days, we believe the Aave community and its contributors will initiate a discussion in response to this incident.
Community contributor @monetsupply.lens additionally opened a discussion on the governance forum on reviewing long-term asset risk on Aave V2 market
Most importantly, today’s events are in contrast to those we have seen with centralized entities in the space – the transactions were entirely traceable and auditable on-chain, providing transparency for users and the community.

- Today was my first day as part of the @LensProtocol & @aaveaave.lens fam, Where I'll be working closely with the best engineers in the space to push the boundaries of the decentralised social graph on and off chain.
Why Lens ? 👇
The best thing about @LensProtocol is its modularity, Algos, filters, storage and pretty much everything can be swapped.
Openness is the moat!!
It's also cool to see things like encryption and ZK proofs used to improve both the scale and the UX of Web3 Apps.
Special shoutout to @stani.lens for putting together such a fantastic diverse team focused on shipping and building a community.
