- Now that Orb so seamlessly supports signing in from desktop I want to move my Lens account to a hardware wallet. What's the proper way to do that? Will I need to transfer all related NFTs one by one?
- I just claimed my $BONSAI reward on @lens/orb!

- Excited for $JEWEL's recovery after a whale dumped almost 5% of the market cap!
The community was watching as it unfolded and then bought in when the whale was done.
Closing in on 100% gain since the bottom!
Meanwhile the team has been building and will release PvE in the coming weeks

- Hey Lens! so I'm going to attempt something that I am totally unqualified for but that I've wanted to try for a long time:Β **Solo staking**
I don't work in tech, I have zero coding knowledge, I barely know where to find the Terminal window... I'm not sure how this is going to go.
I'll document my experience here on Lens. Might be funny... or perhaps tragic. But if I can do it maybe it'll inspire some others among you to give it a go. BIG IF.
OK, let's find out whether this stuff is as hard/easy as they make out.
- I'm hosting Oslo Blockchain Meetup on the last day of May, at Heim pub in Oslo!
Hope to see you there π

- One year ago today:
- LUNA & UST were spiraling to zero, shedding a combined $50B in mcap
- Do Kwon was deploying more capital
- Bitcoin crashed from $35K to $30K
- FTX was still solvent (on paper)
- SBF was sending your $$ to Alameda so they wouldn't go under (yet)
- 3AC was fine (on paper)
- Celsius / Voyager were fine (on paper)
- BlockFi was fine (on paper)
- ETH was still POW
- CT was still semi-healthy because the STEPN ponzi hadn't collapsed yet
And despite all of that, you're still here.
The survivors of the bear market will be the heroes of the next bull market.
Keep grinding.
- Who's going to the Avalanche Summit in the coming week?
I am!
- Mitch Lasky is a legendary gaming investor.
His investments include Discord and Riot Games.
I spent this weekend going over his answers on Quora around gaming and found a ton of gold nuggets relevant to web3 gaming.
Here are the five key lessons π
1/ The gaming industry is a hybrid between tech and creative industries.
Tech innovation and creative innovation drive gaming forward.
Web3 gaming is an excellent example of a tech innovation (blockchain/crypto) and creative innovation (different experiences.)
2/ Game makers and publishers need to learn to deal with failure.
Mitch was involved in the development and publishing of hundreds of games.
Some became smash hits like Spider-man PS4, but others were flops.
To be successful in gaming, you need to learn that failure is part of the job.
This is also true for web3 gaming.
If your first game flops, you can always make another one.
It takes time to make a hit.
3/ User-generated content will become even more important in the future.
The success of Roblox, Minecraft, and the different GTA modes shows that user-generated content is at the heart of a successful game.
4/ Things that capital markets value are lacking in games.
To be a good VC, you need to assess things like:
- Predictable recurring revenue.
- Customer acquisition efficiency at scale.
- Favorable competitive dynamics.
These are lacking in games.
So Mitch bases his decision on whether or not to invest in a game on things unrelated to the game.
He's interested in:
- The competitive advantage
- The business model
- The distribution
- The network effects
I believe the same is valid for investing in web3 games.
5/ VR is not the next big gaming platform.
Mitch believes that VR asks users to make a lot of changes to their behaviors to achieve 360 immersion.
You need a lot of physical space to play, and you're also isolated from your surroundings.
Also, the headsets are uncomfortable and need a lot of computing power to render a visual experience.
He doesn't see how playing a game in VR gives you even 2X improvement over playing it on a PC or console.
Mitch thinks that new experiences will come along that are VR-native.
Excited to see how this prediction plays out.
VR is getting better and better, but it still feels like 10 years away.

- The issue with Elon's latest actions is that this time, they are not partisan thoughtcrimes that primarily deeply offend wokes or anything like that. Rather, they go against cross-tribal principles that are a commonly understood bedrock of fair competition. This crosses a new line.
- GM friends! It's so nice logging on and seeing interesting technical discussions! So hyped for the future of this space!
- I am considering ditching LastPass for BitWarden. Do you have experience with the latter and will you recommend the switch?

`Harpa`β¨β¨
In 2018 I was able to show my parents Iceland, a trip they thought theyβd never take. We witnessed the marathon and MenningarnΓ³tt together, and before the fireworks display we wandered into the opera house, Harpa. It was my first time inside and my goodness was it stunning, especially during a 3 hour sunset. Itβs a building steeped in contrast, with heavy man-made vs nature themes, cyan vs gold, etc. But the overall feeling one gets when inside is of unification. All are welcome, everyone is welcomed. β¨

- We had some bloaters clogging the hero processor this morning. I've applied a fix and it should clear out in minutes π‘
ποΈπ οΈπ
#DeFiKingdoms #BuildMarket $JEWEL $CRYSTAL $JADE
Fun fact: It was actually bloaters clogging the hero processor π
The Hero Core contract on Klaytn ended up with the same address as Bloaters on DFK Chain. This confused the API a lot and it went into safe mode π
Will patch this later today (done), and make the API distinguish which network a transaction arrives from π οΈποΈ
This happy image shows our API being able to recover from the clog in a couple of minutes due to the Serverless architecture it is built on β

- I've been working on compiling a list of projects that are making a real difference/bring innovation to the world.
The plan is to gather talking points to explain to friends and family why crypto represents a revolution akin to the renaissance.
Which would you add?
I truly believe that crypto represents a paradigm shift in not only economics, but many parts of human society.
The great @bankless.lens episode 'The Crypto Renaissance' with Joshua Rosenthal @ryansadams.lens @trustlessstate.lens gives a birds view on this topic.
https://youtu.be/karddOiv4ZA
However, I'd like to dive deeper. What projects are out there, already making a tangible impact on the the status quo?
I'll list a couple of examples of what I am thinking about next.
https://empowa.io accelerates the process of building the 50M homes needed in Africa.
They make it possible for low income families to eventually own their own proper home with the facilities we've come to expect in the industrialised world.
They do this by selling NFTs representing a share of the loans needed to build the homes without sky high mortgage rates.
These NFTs yield a payout over 120 months to the holder. In the future they might be used as collateral in other DeFi applications.
Another substantial example is @lensprotocol lead by @stani.lens
They provide real ownership over your social profile and followers.
Where Twitter and Facebook may shut you down on their platforms, Lens lets you bring your profile to whatever platform you would like.
Other obvious examples are early GameFi games like https://defikingdoms.com and AxieInfinity where a player may get real financial gains from spending time playing.
Now I am very keen to hear which project you would include!
I am planning to compile a list and publish it on a website for us all to use as source and reference when explaining crypto to friends and family.
Thanks for your timeπ
- I'll be at https://crucible.events in Oslo Wednesday π³π΄
Hit me up if you are there! πββοΈπ
