- **State of DeFi Yields | Issue 7** 📈
This week's issue is live! I provide updates on DeFi's base rate, as well as stablecoin & ETH yield opportunities
Read for updates on Pendle, $GHO yields, new yield strategies, and more 👇

**The standouts in Issue 7**
🔹 @lens/contango_xyz yield for stables + ETH
🔹 $GHO yields
🔹 @lens/fraxfinance yields for Fraxlend markets
🔹 @lens/curvefinance LlamaLend markets
🔹 @lens/inverse_finance $DOLA strategies
🔹 Pendle, @lens/gearboxprotocol & @lens/ether_fi for continued 🆙 yields
**Upcoming Special Issue on Decentralized Stablecoins**
I'm looking to cover more decentralized stablecoins in future issues, and I'll be working on a special edition to put out in May on decentralized stablecoins. If you see new stablecoins in each issue, DYOR, but know I'm eager to cover more over time since it's a growing market.
- Points programs have been an improvement on old liquidity mining programs. While people have been upset in the past when they receive non-transferable tokens, everyone loves points and secondary points markets where speculation is half the fun/excitement.
Seems like we’ve moved to the next evolution of broad and more targeted incentive programs, like Aave’s Merit, which has been successful in the seasons 1 & 2.
- **State of DeFi Yields | Issue 6** 📈
This week's issue is live! I provide updates on DeFi's base rate, as well as stablecoin & ETH yield opportunities.
In Issue 6, you can read about double- & triple-digit $GHO yields, ETH yield strats above the base rate and more 👇
https://mirror.xyz/nexusmutant.eth/VtbiXvlCr2kGlPDOCUcjmwcCFm42r6IPa7E17hz8t18
- Right now, Pendle yields are truly unbeatable.
LPs can earned fixed yield on their PT-rswETH and points with the YT-rswETH portion. Best of both worlds and the highest yield Pendle mainnet liquidity markets 👀
Absolutely knocked over that you can use 20 ETH worth to LP and earn 3.49 ETH in 81 days 😲
- I just claimed my $BONSAI reward on @lens/orb!
- At Nexus Mutual we're all in on growth. The results from Q1 2024 show we're off to a good start!

⬆️ Cover fees earnings up 162% since Q4 2023

This vote asks if members want to grant the Advisory Board the power to replace the Bonding Curve with the Ratcheting AMM (RAMM) and remove the Minimum Capital Requirement (MCR) Floor.
- Congrats to the @lens/opencover team on deploying to Arbitrum 🚀
The @lens/nexusmutual ecosystem is so fortunate to have a brilliant team like OpenCover building on top of the Mutual and expanding access to Protocol Cover on L2s 🛡️
- Active cover seems to be growing, since the Mutual has developed strong partnerships in the last year and listed some new protocols 🔥
Nice to see Unity Cover scaling ETH Slashing Cover for Liquid Collective!
- **Quarterly Insights Report | Q3 2023**
In Q3 2023, Nexus Mutual members made significant progress on underwriting initiatives, while earning ~ $440k in cover fees and $1.05m in investment earnings. NXM stakers underwriting cover earned 2,000 NXM rewards.
🌍 Through the Mutual's partnership with InShare SMART Risk, members are underwriting cover for more than 5,000 independent businesses in the UK.
🏗️ @lens/opencover is building on top of the Nexus Mutual protocol, allowing anyone to purchase Protocol Cover on @lens/base and Optimism.
💧 Unity Cover's Slashing Coverage Program with Liquid Collective continues to give their ETH stakers peace of mind and protection against major slashing risks, as coverage scales with their explosive growth.

Seems like we all got some sleep and decided to wait for redemptions on Monday.
But make no mistake: we need a decentralized stablecoin with minimal if no centralized stablecoin backing that can scale.

- In honour of International Women's Day, I want to highlight the incredible women working on @NexusMutual.lens 🛡️
Rox, expert engineer who is incredible at managing all the projects the engineering team tackles. She is always responsive and quickly answers any questions I or anyone else asks. Rox is a true wealth of knowledge 👩💻
Kayleigh, Head of DAO Operations who keeps an open line of communication across all teams working across the DAO and Foundation. She ensures nothing is overlooked, teams are making progress on their stated deliverables, and is working to improve transparency within the DAO 🦸♀️
Andreea, a talented frontend engineer whose work on the Nexus Mutual V2 UI has been incredible. Since she started working on the engineering team, Andreea has tackled so many different tasks and been such a valuable addition to the engineering team.
@semturan.lens, Nexus Mutual's community manager whom I've greatly enjoyed working with over the last year. Sem's research and willingness to learn has been an inspiration. In addition to her work for the mutual, Sem has contributed several great articles to Hackernoon: hackernoon.com/u/semturan
I am incredibly fortunate to work with and learn from Rox, Kayleigh, Andreea, and Sem 😎
- Traveling back home after ETH Denver.
Remarkable to see the growth in engineering talent working within the Ethereum and DeFi ecosystem.
I had the pleasure of meeting with a variety of teams, talking about @nexusmutual.lens V2, and risk/security.
The conference itself was massive and was so well organized.
I had the chance to talk with active Nexus Mutual members, answer their questions, and hear their feedback on current governance discussions.
Cannot wait to see my favorite #DeFi teams ship the innovative products and updates they presented about in Denver.

If you’re going to ETH Denver and want to meet up, send me a DM 🐢
- Saw one of @stani.lens’s posts about Forbes, ads, and digital publishing this weekend. Made me think back on why I enjoy reading magazines, which ones I like, and what experience I want from a publication.
I read many physical magazines at my local library. Harpers, The Economist, The Sun. The Sun is my favorite—personal, each issue published with a theme that includes fiction, poetry, and essays. None of these publications provide the same experience when read on an iPad or in a browser.
Digital publishing is different and often lacks the intimate feeling you get when you hold a magazine in your hand and feel the weight of the paper. Not many publications have done this well. Maria Popova’s The Marginalian (formerly, Brain Pickings) is an example of one that has replicated the intimate experience of reading a physical magazine.
The Marginalian reminds me of the zines or small press chapbooks popularized in the 90s. You can still find excellent examples in SF and other cities. It would be cool to see someone build a generalized small press/zine framework on top of Lens that people can use to create independent publications that require someone to pay with WMATIC to unlock, collect, and read on this protocol, which could create a familiar layout/aesthetic to earlier zines.
You could start a publication, distribute it on Lens, and earn revenue to pay writers, editors, artists, and more on web3 rails.
- Everyone weighing in on Roald Dahl’s catalog and the revisions being made to his popular titles. Part of a larger problem, tbh.
On a whole, communities attempt to suppress what goes against their shared values, but often time literature does this on purpose to point out important truths.
Roald Dahl wrote children’s books and some great work for adult audiences as well. (Dahl’s Omnibus is great, btw).
Revising what makes us uncomfortable or may be offensive makes us weaker. We forget about unspoken truths, all under the guise of protecting children.
Matilda is about the power of education and the ways we stifle children in their adolescence through conformity. Be quiet and listen. Matilda doesn’t do this.
Instead of editing these books and sanitizing them, we should let children read and decide for themselves.
Maurice Sendak said that children know the truth and feel betrayed when we lie to them. They are stronger than we realize and understand the unfortunate realities around them.
But it’s clear that edits to Dahl’s work has been done for marketing and sales purposes, which is just as, if not more, dangerous.
- 🏆 Lens contest for $9k delegation 🏆
The @pooltogether $5k grand prize is coming. What draw will it be❓
Statistically it happens once every 30 days but the day is random. Currently we are on draw 490. Pick a draw between 490 and 550 and comment as a reply to this post for a chance to win a $9k delegation for 2 weeks. 💰
The answer that guesses the draw with the $5k prize, or closest to without going over, wins a $9k delegation for two weeks. Reply to this post with your guess for a chance to win!
Eligibility requirement: Participants must follow me on Lens and have a wallet on Optimism to receive the delegation. If a draw number is already taken please choose another or you will not be eligible (only 60 spots).

- Since claims filing opened last week, members have paid:
💸 Over $3.8m across 18 #FTX & #BlockFi claims
While the FTX and BlockFi bankruptcies move forward, people who had crypto assets on these centralized platforms must wait and see how much they'll be able to recover.
Relief from both bankruptcy proceedings could take years.
People who had Custody Cover were able to file a claim with proof of loss and receive their payment in a matter of days.
To quote a member whose claim was approved: "Buying coverage from Nexus Mutual was the most impactful decision I've made in my life."
Including the FTX & BlockFi claim payments, members have now paid over **$13m** to people affected by smart contract failures and halted withdrawals on centralized exchanges.
