Coming back to the city from a party at the port we got stuck on the freeway and it was one of those unique moments that can only happen by accident, we walked along the freeway while cars were passing by at full speed, it was hot but we remembered when we were teenagers and went to parties where we were not invited and walked home because no one was driving, our parents were already asleep and we had no money, the good life. These two are brothers to each other and my friends from 25 years ago when we played super smash brother on the console until we were sent to sleep.

Today I made history my dear reader. After a long period of being extremely tight financially, after not having had the slightest difference for more than the bare minimum... Today, I was finally able to deliver for @chaoticmonk.lens and @jessyjeanne.lens !

- I didn't know this!!! I always use Lenster on desktop to post my images, I'll have to check out buttrfly. When I upload an image to Manifold its able to pull metadata from the image like: focal length, lens, camera body, gps location, f-stop, iso, shutter speed. I also manually add data like aspect ratio, image resolution and the software I used to make the image. Thanks for your response, I've got some exploring to do 😁

Do you remember that trip to Malta and Italy? https://lenster.xyz/posts/0xd3a4-0x20 , https://lenster.xyz/posts/0xd3a4-0x34 . Well, when I visited Florence I also did this photogrammetry. But, you might ask my dear reader, what is a photogrammetry?
A photogrammetry is a 3D model made with several overlapped pictures: you shot an object from different angles, thanks to those different angles one same point will appear in different places in every picture, and therefore, you can triangulate that point's position in space.
This way, you can create what is called "a point cloud" with all the points caught within the pictures. After that, you can join those points in a mesh, i.e., you create a surface joining the points in space, and finally, you "glue" a texture to that mesh.
The result is what you are seeing here: a 3D digital model, copied from the real object. You can create a photogrammetry in different ways, more or less professionals, according to that will be the accuracy and utility of the result.
The most accurate and precise results are used for example for cultural heritage preservation, and that's what I did between 2013 and 2018 at the University of Salerno. In this case, I did a very rough reconstruction of a detail from the east doors of the Baptistery of Florence, aka “Gates of Paradise”, by Lorenzo Ghiberti.
