- I’m using two computers in the same location; one strictly for audio processing (Mac), and the other for video/ live-streaming/ DApp connections (PC).
The Mac handles the analog audio connections using a UAD Apollo. Processing & mixing is done in MainStage. The stereo mix is sent to a local area network using Dante Via, which transmits audio signals over IP. The PC receives audio on the network using Dante Virtual Soundcard, which unzips the IP packets and serves as the audio interface for OBS. If needed, I can monitor the output of OBS on the Mac over the Dante network, to make sure I’m hearing what’s hitting the stream.
I’m also streaming video from my iPhone to the PC over a wireless network using NDI. So the challenge is to get the AV synchronized at the stream output!
Aside from the analog connections, this can all be done using pretty inexpensive/ free software, a managed gigabit switch, and a wireless router. Plus, I could connect additional computers to the network that would all see the same AV signals; so expanding the system becomes quite easy.
