- Running Postgres light as a WASM library in the browser & JS runtimes seems pretty dope...
I used Sqlite as WASM to run in the browser almost one year ago, but I haven't tried this.

- I kept PfSense(v2.5) off for a few months. I turned it back on, and it gave some weird errors about not finding /entropy and host ID. I tried solutions found on the net, but none worked, so I just flashed the latest version, and everything worked even the config was retained.

- A lot of creators I know hate mastodon because it fragments their audience and provides less engagement. But to be fair if you're not a creator and you're more into niche communities mastodon is a decent way to achieve some social media decentralization.

I think is very accurate.

- I finally caved and enabled the deprecated `window.ethereum.send` sync in Clear Wallet. It's just that too many websites are still using it (for example AAVE, probably not them directly but the library that they use.)
This change in 1.2.8 will improve compatibility with sites that after years still use these deprecated methods to interact with the wallet.

- I really have a deep respect for R. Haris, for everything he has done for the web ecosystem, and enjoyed his last talk, ( you can find it on Vercel's channel) clipped a small spicy portion.

- Somebody told me people will never use a token contract with blacklist functionality.
That aside don't know if this PEPE had it before, but this is yet another reason why contract upgradability is a bug, not a feature.

- This resilience act is not at all a great solution. I get that a lot of companies are dependent on open-source and that there have been many security breaches. But making open-source legally responsible for that will just stifle open-source. I think in order to increase security companies should be obligated to follow a minimum set of practices and if they don't follow that either you burry that company if it damages third parties or you don't offer any law protections if the damages only affect set company.
This way the onus is on corporations and not open-source.
[In letter to EU, open source bodies say Cyber Resilience Act could have 'chilling effect' on software development](https://techcrunch.com/2023/04/18/in-letter-to-european-commission-open-source-bodies-say-cyber-resilience-act-could-have-chilling-effect-on-software-development/)
13 open source industry bodies have published a letter asking the Europe to reconsider aspects of its proposed Cyber Resilience Act.
- Contract upgradability many times is a huge liability as it provides ways of imposing future centralized decisions that you can't anticipate. Just look at this link:

- This obsession with SuperApp, when I hear: SupperApp, I hear monopoly, and I don't like monopolies. Yeah seems corporations dream of something like WeeChat. Web3 and SuperApp represent an oxymoron.

Trevor Traina, a six-time startup founder, has raised $25 million in Series A funding for his startup Kresus, which aims to build a crypto superapp.
- I think now Twitter is in a very, very sad state because most non-paying users have their engagement artificially cut considerably. Paying users might be happy because they get a bit more views at the expense of non-paying users. But this means there are fewer reasons for non-paying users to use the app, which, also long term, might result in a downward trajectory in the number of active users.
- 1 min ago, Clear Wallet v1.2.2 has become live.
In this update, I raised the minimum chrome version because I used a double injection of the meta mask API stub.
Some wallet libs expect that *`window.ethereum`* is there before anything else, but with manifest V3 you can't anymore run sync code before the web page, which can lead to some wallet libs not detecting the wallet.
But with a minimum 103 chrome version you can also inject in a non-isolated context, so instead of hacking and trying to mount a stub with inline event execution(which can be blocked by CSP) now, the first minimal sync stub is injected in the main context, this stops any website with any kind of aggressive CSP to prevent the injection of the stub.
This is great from a security perspective since you can do this without any alteration to the CSP of the website, but you need chrome 103 minimum.

- I think you should encourage upgraded security and not discourage it.
This gives an extremely poor signal. Even many startups launched less than a month ago can cover SMS costs for 2-auth.
But TBH SMS 2-auth should not exist 2-auth OTP is a much better UX.
[Official: Twitter will now charge for SMS two-factor authentication](https://www.theverge.com/2023/2/17/23605073/twitter-blue-charge-sms-2fa)
Better change your 2FA, or Twitter will turn it off

- This story is funny, London Police request a takedown of proxybay.github.io, and GitHub then takes it down after the owner appeals. The takedown was revoked and https://proxybay.github.io/ gets restored.
I guess kudos to GitHub.
But why don't we fire some of these copyright troll chaps? Public servants should not do the bidding of corporations for profits is a total waste of public funds with no repercussions.

- I did an update to *Clear Wallet* yesterday to add support to *eth_getTransactionCount* since I saw that QuickSwap now will also do that request to the wallet it didn't before.
I am a bit torn if I should add wallet connect support to my wallet if I do it will be the only browser wallet that has that capability which would be cool but I also like having it so tiny I mean 370kb gzipped is what I like bringing wallet connect support might beef the size.
I am also not pleased with the way that chrome is handicapping the extensions more and more with each new chrome version, the newest one set to be released on 7 FEB will go even more in that direction.
