- I have seen people asking why the follower count went down and if this was due to a bad migration, but it is not. Lens v1 WALLETS followed, not PROFILES. This caused considerable confusion throughout; it meant if you have ten profiles on a single wallet, they all follow the same people. In Lens V2, we changed this to PROFILES following PROFILES.
On the migration, we mapped any WALLETS who owned a PROFILE to their most active PROFILE (if they held more than 1), and we attached the follows to that PROFILE as now PROFILES follow PROFILES. Any loss on follower count was WALLETS following, which did not own a PROFILE; they still own the follower NFT and can apply it to any PROFILE if they mint one any time, and that follow will be +1 again as It's valid.
Follower NFTs can still be minted by unwrapping them from the PROFILE and applying to any PROFILE - you still own them and can do whatever you wish. They do not follow the 721 standard until unwrapped into a Follower NTF.
I hope this explains it; PROFILE > PROFILE following allows a better experience for the whole protocol.
