Yes this is top of mind, our thinking is the combined UX + value proposition of Lens apps need to be much greater than any existing alternative social medi

- Looking forward to what this may mean in the future! The tech behind Lens & frens is cool, but there are some hurdles that would def. prevent non-techies from joining, I think.
I can't imagine telling random people that they need a "wallet" so they can then sign stuff, so they can then sign-up to Lens.
If it could be as easy as signing up to Facebook, that would def. be a game-changer, although I don't think that that's possible right now, right? Since you need the wallet for identification.
Using Lenster on my laptop right now, and UX-wise, it's not hard to grasp if you've used any social media before. The barrier to entry might be a bit too high, though.
There's also the large amount of people that don't like web3 because of the image it's gotten ( which included me for a long time ).
In the end, the focus shouldn't be that Lens a web3 replacement for Twitter or something similar. Web3 doesn't mean anything to non-technical folk, and has a negative connotation to many people that are technical.
The focus should be on the benefits. That it's a social media platform, where no single person can take away your account and all of the content that you've created on it. That it's a social media platform, when you can monetize some of your content via the "collect" feature.
I feel that especially with many content creators fearing that Twittier is burning to the ground with Musk at the head, that this is a good time to highlight those benefits.
If it's possible to lower the barrier to entry for non-tech people, that would help too. Content creators go where the people are, and other people then go where the content creators are 😄
- So we're _not_ shoving web3 down their throats? What am I gonna do with my tuba?
