Curious to get everyone's thoughts on what I outlined here in terms of token incentives! https://variant.fund/articles/consumer-tokens-should-look-like-we

“We’re not citizens anymore. We’re consumers. That’s what we’re called. It’s just like being an alcoholic and being in denial that you’re an alcoholic. We’re in denial that each and every one of us is the problem. And until we face up to that, nothing’s going to happen.” — Yvon Chouinard Patagonia Founder

Great article - user retention is such an underlooked aspect in web3 as compared to user acquisition. Been doing loads of user interviews the past few months and the fact is that most web3 protocols/projects have little to no idea who their users are, and didn't have mechanisms in place to understand that, which makes it harder to set up retention incentivization.
Agree 100%. Tokens cannot be seem as just a financial incentive anymore, otherwise it will only attract people looking for making money instead of real users. Tokens should be social incentives, that stimulate people to use the product, interact with the team and help them make it better, socialize with other users and coming back on a regular basys. Financial incentives are not enough to provide regular usage and avoid churn.
