Another questions, are you comments better now with the reply ranking? i.e. do the most of the low quality comments go behind "see more comments" ?

Yes, they do. All the single word replies are all the bottom of this post's comments which is definitely good to see.

Reply ranking is definitely a big help, but it's a game of cat and mouse somewhat... ultimately the goal is facilitating quality posts and feeds, which ranking can help with (as long as the # of profiles is limited). In the end, things with any incentive involved will devolve into a bot-fest if not careful though.
