How we could get more smaller/niche brands into Lens? especially less known fashion brands

- My brother works at Louis Vuitton (not niche ik) and I get some insight sometimes: The main thing is that their audience is not here. It’s still pretty hard to get a lens handle and Lens is mostly crypto / web3 enthusiasts & male doninant. Could still be very interesting for fashion brands to do partnerships. Eg if they got a contingent of Lens handles to give to their customers / fans and build an exclusive community around their brands.
- We need them to understand that it is easier to build an audience on Lens given that its still relatively small, but the potential is sky-high
- Develop a market place for brands to showcase their products, reward users who market them and pick up the phone and get some more collabs started.
- Ask the community if they know of some then reach out to them 💫

- **Build apps which are useful to those niches/brands.** Few people will leave their social circles for a better database. I'd highly recommend anyone in web3 trying to solve this problem to revisit one of the greatest Steve Jobs lessons of all time:

- Provide them with frictionless Estsy-like experience. May be integration with Etsy/Insta/Shopify etc. with single point of inventory management. Would like to discuss this, may be my 15-years eCommerce experience will help. Much can be done.
- I think they'll take every opportunity to grow, and #Lens provides more than enough. So the only problem here is how to make them know about Lens and how to tell the advantages.
The first step is to hear at least one of the brands to find out where they usually promote.
- Maybe collabs where they build in public on Lens? Start having small circles of lens frens who love fashion and add these small brands to the circles. It’s direct access for the lens community to support the growth of these up and coming artists.
- I guess you would need someone to be responsible for onboarding all these small brands, similar to how Polygon manages to onboard larger brands into their ecosystem. You would need someone who is passionate about both Lensverse and the fashion industry, particularly niches that align with Lens's values, such as sustainable fashion brands, as well as bio and eco brands for beauty, food, etc.
I happen to know someone who would be a great fit for the role. She is building her own sustainable organic fashion brand and is passionate about educating people about sustainability and related issues.
- Imo, the two main reasons fashion brands go onto web2 socials like Twitter or Insta are:
1) building an audience
2) selling their product
Now as to how Lens can address these two aspects:
1 - I think Lens' advantage with regards to platforms such as Twitter/Insta is that the community for now is much smaller but way more engaged because of the limited content as opposed to these other platforms, so you can market Lens' as a platform with very high engagement and offer collaborations. You can set up campaigns with brands where users are incentivized to interact with these brands posts/products.
2-There needs to be some sort of marketplace/dedicated area on Lens where fashion brands can display their products, and users could potentially purchase products by collecting posts (just an idea).
Bonus:
I also think there should be a way to explore posts/profiles based on themes so if a specific fashion brand is focused on sustainability, then if you select "sustainability" as your interests you could be exposed to that brand's content.
- 1. Lens help small brands set up the store and incentivise the small brands by offering free store set up on lens and no charge on their ads for the first 6 months.
2. Lens will generate revenue mainly through charging on advetisements and store maintennace fee.
3. Lens set up the social credit system for all the brands registered on Lens. Let lens users give their scores to each brand they have used and Lens will publish the credit score listing on a regular basis.
- Better visual content posting. Some moodboard features could be great
- tiktok/instagram is where a lot of the fashion community hangs out. i think pushing to have a presence on those platforms & reaching out to influencers is a good move
- We could pick up artists from Etsy and help them promote their brand on Lens.
One much better thing as a developer could do is - make a ETSY like website for artists selling their art whether it's a physical one or digital one.

- Maybe with providing a DAO which can they use to make their marketing. The DAO will be like a label to certifie some values or quality of the brand. This DAO can bring them more visiblity, which is an issue for small brand.
- We need to educate and show them being in Lens is a game changer
- Cooperte with some internet celebrities, who have links with some smaller/niche brands.
- Can do some small events on Lens for target brands
- As first step offer them, their brands name as Lens handle and give them a blue check.

- Don't bring traditional celebs like snoop dogg and kanye, they will ruin everything.. Get video game and indie people, voice actors and so on.

But these brands need some kind of spaces to show off their products (also the artists wanting to share their work). If there some features that make you able to pin the photos/post into a gallery (similar to instagram?) that would help a lot.

This requires very good products that are convenient and fast to use. This will naturally attract more people to come in through person-to-person transmission.
