The email and phone number is just because there's so little crypto adoption that no one knows atleast another 3 people to set as their guardians to secure their Argent wallet
I guess the idea with the email is to create a easy recovery service for the users and Argent being offering recovery as a service
just comment on this post, could have been some other in this thread as well, though. you guys have to be careful not to mix Argent and Argent X when describing features and chains. both are products of the same company. Argent is the mobile wallet supporting Ethereum and zkSync. Argent X is a browser extension supporting StarkNet.
It's a trend for using smart contract wallet!
